There's no way to fix the offense at this point it's too late. At least 5 regular starters need replacing, and even more than that would be better.

The problem with the trade deadline this year is that it seems like every time I go on MLBTR it seems like another team that we thought would be a deadline seller is declaring themselves a deadline buyer. Today I read that the Mets are now buyers so that means Alonso is off the table. And the Reds are now saying they aren't sellers which cancels out the availability of Jonathon India. Bo Bichette just went on an extensive IL stint expected to be six weeks or more and the Blue Jays are working to extend Vlad Jr. And Kiner-Falela is playing way over his head right now and would not work out here, despite whatever ulmax is saying. He would just end up being another Kolten Wong/Jorge Polanco clone here.

Pickings seem to be getting slimmer and slimmer which I think is why the deadline is moving so slow this year. Chisholm will eventually get moved. Alot of White Sox guys will too, but it may not be til the last minute.

Think of the relief pitching we have traded in recent years for position players that have not helped us. And our current relief corps has cost us at least 10 games. We bitch about the offense every day, and rightfully so, but the bullpen is equally to blame.

Just take a look at what Dipoto blew up the 2023 bullpen
Justin Topa appeared in 75 games and compiled a 2.61 ERA. He was traded for Polanco.
Isiah Campbell appeared in 27 games and compiled a 2.83 ERA. He was traded for Luis Urias.
And Paul Seward, the saddest story of all. Over 1/2 seasons with us he appeared in 172 games, compiled a 3.00 ERA, saved 52 games and was trade for Canzone, Bliss, and Rojas. Rojas may have looked good early on, but since May 1st he has slashed .192/.268/.269/.537. He. is. not. good. Canzone is almost 27-years-old. He will never amount to much more than a fourth or fifth outfielder. Bliss may eventually work out but the Mariners need Sewald now, not Bliss a year or two from now.
