That is pretty cool. I know I saw the Angels play a few times during Trout's career, but I can't recall much about those games. Several were in Anaheim. I just remember it was scorching hot, and I lived in AZ. Cool you have those memories.I will never forget getting to the baseball park two hours early On Opening Day I’m guessing it’s been at least 10 years ago obviously against the Angels and yes Opening Day in Seattle was cloudy skies exceptionally cool at 1 o’clock start on a weekday as well as as maybe 40 something degrees at around 11:15 when the angels were taking batting practice on the field
Usually, I’m never there that early taking in batting practice but I had to catch a super early train down to the baseball park area and the train that left the Everett area Last was around I think 9 AM or so so I had to get down there superduper early had an overpriced shitty yuppie breakfast at some little Small high strong place to eat, but anyway back to my story
Mike Trout stepped into the batting cage and took I think four or five swings and you could tell he was not giving it his full effort just as nice normal swing five swings five home runs to different parts of the ballpark every single one flew over the fence
All the previous batters took their multiple swings maybe 40 or 50 swings that I saw between about a half a dozen other players resulted in two balls going over the fence
It was absolutely amazing what that man did on that 45° morning with I believe the wind also blowing in a little at Safeco
I can’t remember what he did in the game because my memory of what he did in batting practice is what stood out that day
But I’m positive it was Felix on the bump and we all know what Mike Trout did On Opening Day against Felix multiple multiple times at the ballpark
I hope he goes out and glory. Also, just not in a series versus Mariners in a big moment. It hurts us.
