Why does that even matter? This thread is about a teams Mount Rushmore, four players. But to answer your question so you don't try to change the topic again I'd put him at 7. The most important people in Cleveland Browns history starts with Paul Brown, then the players.
Paul Brown, Jim Brown, Otto Graham, Ozzie Newsome, Joe Thomas (yep him again), Paul Warfield, Motley.
MM's last four years in the league he scored four total TD's.
he's in the HOF and an 8 time Pro Bowl player and a huge Fan Favorite
I didn't say he should replace the 4 mentioned...only that he deserves consideration
Besides....Hennigan only played 7 seasons
Motley had seasons averaging....
8.2
6.1
6.1
5,0
5,8
4,5
5,0
......a carry, his 5.7 career average is the highest of all the HOF RB's, yep, better than Jim Brown. And, he also played some defense.
Did you just say Motley was a better RB than Jim Brown?
Brown- 2,359 carries
Motley- 828 carries
Brown- 104.3 yards per game, # 1 all time
Motley- 45.0 yard per game, # 205 all time
shhhChuck Knoll? Guessing that's a typo. Funny thing is my damn dog slipped an edible in my iced tea again and for a second I thought that was the right spelling.
Pete Carroll
Russell Wilson
Steve Largent
Walter Jones
Definitely number 5No Cortez Kennedy?
Gotta have Marion Motley over Thomas
I'd put Motley & Warfield over Thomas. Quite frankly, I'd consider putting Bernie over Thomas, too. Certainly didn't have the individual accolades Thomas did, but he meant more to the franchise, accomplished more for his team, and is certainly more beloved by the city/fans.
I was unaware of this. Went to profootballreference and bam you nailed it. Speaking of which. The problem with Night Train Lane is that Detroit was his third team. His best years were arguably with the Cardinals.
Bobby Layne
Night Train Lane.....7 pro bowls, 3 All Pro....14 INTS as a rookie, 4th all time list
Barry Sanders
Lem Barney
Bills
Marv Levy
Bruce Smith
Jim Kelly
Thurman Thomas
there are some players from the 60's who played in AFL Championship games who might deserve to be on the list; I'm not very familiar with that era.
I can't believe I just posted 4 NE Patriots players to the Steelers Mt. Rushmore and went right over the heads of Steelers fans!Well harrison was actually quite good.
