I still don't see how the answer isn't Ryan Howard.
At the time he signed his contract, he was worth about $15M per year. He was a one-trick pony offensively and a terrible defensive 1B. They gave him $25M per year through his mid-30s. Now, he's 2 years into the contract and he's already finished. His one trick isn't even working any more. I said that he would be lucky to still be in the Majors by the 5th year when he signed the deal. Looks like I guessed right on that one.
The worst part was that he was down before the contract even went into effect. It is arguably the dumbest contract extension ever.Ryan Howard, though I remember how good he was. Seems like he signed that contract and he's been down ever since.
Vernon. Wells.Seriously though, it's Ryan Howard and it isn't even up for debate. Even before the injury, he wasn't that good. He had one AS caliber year, though he had no business winning MVP. Hell, he wasn't even the most valuable Philly (Utley).
Vernon. Wells.
Exactly. Howard is on an island with this one. At least Pujols, Wells, whoever have provided some value. Enough value to justify their deals? Hell no. But it's something. Both are bad but I think it's easily Howard.
His production really doesn't match his paycheck.Haha me too. Does this mean Bonilla is no longer in the equation?
