way off is an understatement... his career high in triples was only 9... 6 players since 1950 have 20 or better...
so "way, way off" I guess? The 7 teams in 16 seasons seems about right for Lonnie though.

Here's another guess. How about hit king Pete Rose?

@PolarVortex it's time for you to reveal the answer
OK.
So, Clemente is first with 166
Willie Wilson is second with 147
Lou Brock is third with 141

Clemente's home park, Forbes Field was huge. Hit one in the gap there and you could run all day. Alot of Pirates on the career most triples list. There is a story Willie Mays tells that he went 0-4 in a game in Forbes one day and his four fly outs traveled a total of over 1600 feet.

To build on this a little more:
The Pirates played in Exhibition Stadium from 1882-1908. The distance down the foul lines was 400 feet. LOL. Insane by today's standards. The centerfield wall was 450 feet. The Pirates played in Forbes Field from 1909-1970. The foul lines were 375 feet. The gaps were 408 feet and the center field wall was 457 feet. No surprise that Honus Wagner had 252 career triples.

Granderson I believe with 23. Babe Ruth made triples an endangered species
I think that was the year Granderson had a quadruple 20. That's another good trivia question. Who was the last person to have a quadruple 20 before Granderson? And don't ask me because I don't know. If I had to guess I'd say Musial or Mays, but I don't know. Maybe no one. I think Rollins came close with the Phillies one year.

Since it was brought up...

Who took over for Gehrig at First Base for the Yanks in 1939?
