Including today and tomorrow, this is going to be a real test for the young core of guys. 18 road games and 6 of the 10 series are with teams over .500. Toronto and the Angels are about the same as the M's leaving Milwaukee and Houston as the only easier teams on the schedule for the month.

@Boston
@Baltimore
Toronto
Milwaukee
@Tampa Bay
@Texas
@Oakland
Anaheim
Texas
@Houston

If the M's can come out of this month at .500 against these teams, I will be very happy. Need 15 wins. Anything more than that would be icing on the cake.

I doubt you'll beat my Red Sox any month.

A bit sorry you're not playing the "Sinstripes" this month. Anything your team could do to
make that team miss the playoffs totally would be appreciated.

yeah, octa, .500 over that stretch would be excellent. a couple of games under .500 would still be good.

You will have to face our two best pitchers, but the Sox are looking good and have plenty of fire power, especially when focused on bullpen phone boxes. I am hoping for a series victory.

I had high hopes going into this series with our 3 best pitchers going and also not having to face Doubront or Lester (we have struggled vs LH).
Now its seems like we may have to Peavy as the Sox just acquired him. Series looking alot tougher now and No Felix or Kuma in the Bal series. I'd be happy to go 3-3 now.

Details haven't been made official yet, but it appears that my Sox gave up Jose Iglesias
in a 3 team deal as part of acquiring Peavy. I am hoping that's incorrect, because Iglesias has
Gold Glove potential, which is more important than hitting at SS.

I'll survive if Iglesias is actually gone, but will not pretend to be happy about it.

Not even watching tonight's game. It's just not a good matchup, even with Kuma on the mound.

Chalk up another in the "should have won but didn't" category for the M's.

Looks like any hopes of a playoff run was merely a pipe dream oh well...still hoping for a strong finish and some continued success from the young guys

Wasn't expecting this, even during the winning streak. Just too many teams to get passed.

A strong finish though would be great, especially given the kind of opposition we have to face. This year has been better than expected so far. Seager getting even better. Franklin and Miller proving this franchise really can develop position players who can also hit. Iwakuma coming out of almost nowhere to dominate as a starter. All good signs moving forward. If this team can finish near .500 (or closer than last year) I will be happy going into next season.

And to be honest...we've just had some really bad luck as a team this year. So many games that were really in our grasp...and in years like 95 or 01...all of those bounces would've went our way and the 1 run losses or the extra inning heart breakers would instead be Ws.

I mean last night in extras...Ackley hit the ball as hard as we've ever seen him hit a ball and it ended up being a line out instead of a go ahead rbi. I mean...if you were watching the game on tv even the announcers thought it was a base hit too.

PLAYOFFS?! Are you kidding me...PLAYAWWWFS??!

:laugh3:

We'll be lucky if we can prove that the eight-game winning streak we had earlier wasn't a fluke!

Your team may have the early lead tonight, but my Red Sox score most of their runs late in games
whoever's pitching against them.

Don't count your chickens before they hatch!

Not in most of the games I've watched.

I have had to miss a few afternoon games because of standing commitments.

Most teams score the most in the 1st and 6th innings, so saying your team scores late, is the same as anybody else's team. Yes, it is recognized that the Sox see alot of pitches and thus get the SP pitch count up earlier than other teams, but scoring late is where most teams score. Particularly the 6th inning when the SP is getting tired and is trying to get through the inning before a reliever is brought in.

I'm guessing most of the games in which my Sox scored early were against end-of-the-rotation types.

Could be wrong on that, but their offense has been better in the late innings for 2-3 years now.

The emphasis they place on running up pitch counts is the most likely reason for that, IMO.

I should have read the previous post before writing my last. Someone anticipated what I was going to say.
