I'm not trying to say we don't do UK's idea but I have come up with an idea of my own that perhaps we can do later.

Auction drafts. I announce a player and everyone PM's or texts me how much they are willing to spend on the player the highest bid wins. In case of a tie I PM or text each person and ask them if they are willing to go higher.

Something to think about...

A silent auction? How would you participate?

How about the players can only be in the All-Star game era. No $25 HOF players BUT you have to select 4 players from every division (6 divisions * 4 players = 24 players) 1 wildcard from any division.

So you have a budget based on all-star appearances like UK's idea but no $25 HOF players?

Idk just brainstorming. Seems like a lot of work lol

That's why I'd go with my original idea, simplifies things

Yeah it does eliminate HOF players being drafted too.
We could set it at 180 or 200. The whole purpose of the cap is to keep the teams from being 100% HOF .I've found in a capped draft, you want the bigger pool of players to find more decent non HOFers

Yeah true. I like the whole cap idea in general so it sounds good to me. It will not only value the couple of HOFr's you pick but also value the non-HOFr's as well. Probably raising the cap would be a good idea since we would have to draft 25 players, that can add up quick.

I don't like all HOFers being equal. I like the ASG being the cap value, but think we should just eliminate the guys who played before 1933 or whenever the ASG came around. I could be talked into adding Ruth and maybe a couple other guys, but it'd be a lot easier if we just count them out for this one, imo.

If we do a auction draft I suggest people PM me and nos participates. I'm not a fan of auction drafts and would probably pass on that draft.

I am not sure how well this works until we can run an entire draft with no large Lull's. The idea is intriguing, but I think it puts too large a burden on you, and give too large a negative to anyone that has stuff go wrong at work that week.

It just seems like an auction draft everyone has to be online at the same time, it seems like this would take forever. I guess I am just not sure how it works, I am thinking it is like bidding and you keep bidding higher and higher.

I like the cap idea based on all-star appearances without the bidding, but it's whatever

What about $1 per allstar game + an additional $5 for HOF?

Non-HOFers from the pre-allstar era are ineligble, HOFers from then are $15

Babe is $25
