He looked descent before he got dinged up. I'd take him out let Lock finish up.

??? yeah because 13-20 for 110 yards is so good. His lone TD was GIVEN to him by a strip sack. He couldn't drive them down the field worth a damn. 1 TD by A Lock lead offense, 1 TD by the Defense and a 10 yard drive TD by Geno. He was bad tonight and lost his cool and cried like a baby after a clean tackle. I Like Geno to get fired up because 90% of the time he plays better but tonight he was being a bitch. 3-12 on 3rd downs and Lock was 1-1 on 3rd downs. Yep Geno was 2-11 :L

Said it right when Geno got injured that I was curious to see Lock because Geno seemed asleep. I get he's playing with a makeshift OL and the Giants actually do have a pretty decent DL, but yah. There was plenty of opportunities. He missed DK over the middle (had a beat, in front of his defender) for a 30 yard pass, missed Parkinson deep, the stupid side arm almost resulted in a pick 6... bruh, you're not Mahomes. Geno locks on too much.

If this makes anyone feel better, Witherspoon has more sacks than Jalen Carter in one less game….

I did miss the beginning so up to that point he made the TD pass than got hurt so I'll take your word he wasn't good to start. So I take back what I said.

He wasn't awful he was asleep.

Also I was wrong Lock handed the ball off at the end of the game on a 3rd down that was stopped so Lock was 1-2 Geno was 2-10. I was hoping he would get fired up and play better because when he NORMALLY plays with emotions he is better but his game went from middle of the pack to abysmal!

So is this going to be your schtick this season? Even in dominant wins, focus on how terrible Geno is?

You saying he wasn't? I think we all saw how well he played and just because the DEFENSE stepped up doesn't mean Geno gets a pass. Happy for the win 100% Happy that Witherspoon showed out but he has been since he has been playing. Glad a 4 total sack team picked up 11 in one game but lets get 2+ EVERY game.

Geno has been locking onto WR's, he hasn't been looking ANYONE off, he has been reading ZERO defenses, He looks like he decided who he was going to throw to BEFORE the play and is missing WIDE OPEN players. It's sad. Yes he is playing safe but my god his safe is barely safe and we have got lucky that he doesn't have 2+ Pick 6's this short season all ready. Both were Dropped!

I knew Witherspoon was a physical stud and liked the pick, So him showing out did not surprise. JSN has been invisible but in the all 22 he has been open a handful of times and GENO never looks his way. it's Lockett/DK or dump off. Bobo has been HUGE and had Geno looked his way he would have WAY better numbers as he is WIDE open at least 1 play every game. How long till his inept play bites us? It's going to happen sooner rather than later. Geno needs to pull his head out of his ass ASAP. He looks like the Geno from the Jets and i hope a team mate punches him in the face to wake his ass up. He needs to get off the sleeping pills. Jones on our team would have been Crazy tonight.

Oh damn, I completely forgot we had the bye this upcoming week. For some reason I thought it was AFTER week 5. Well that's great news. We need it to let these guys rest up. Hopefully Cross makes it back, not sure on Lewis, couldn't give a fuck about Haynes, start Bradford... Lucas I think it gone until around week 8-10 if it's patellar related. Really need Reed to get back (they said shin injury so that might not be a big deal).

Either way, we got a lot of players that need to heal up including some of our secondary.

I think drafting a nickel CB with the 5th overall is fuckin' ridiculous, but if he's going to have games like that... so what? Will be real interesting when Coby/Brown heal up what Seattle will do with Devon.

3rd rookie with 2 sacks and a pick 6 since 1982 (when sacks were officially recorded).

Glad Danny Dimes was worse. Geno will have a stinker here and there but at least today defense played lights out and got the win.

Maybe Jamal Adams should consider retirement. Again first game back and out again. Dudes had a lot of injuries, made his money and retire before his body completely breaks down.

Might as well see what happens against Cincy. The average concussion days out is 9 days... we have the bye week so he gets 13.... given how fired up he was and pissed off at the doc (he wasn't necessarily looking lethargic), he should see action in Cincy.

It's a bit ridiculous and I know it's basically a running meme on this forum at this point. Even I replied to someone on YouTube who said he'll last 3-4 weeks and said, "Stop exaggerating, it'll be 3 quarters" which was STILL too much lol, but yah.

That said, I think ya see what he can bring this season. I don't think he'll retire, I think he's legit fired up and wants to play and why he was so pissed off at the doctor. The guy went through 13 months of recovery for this and is slowly being forgotten about (especially after the Witherspoon performance). Most men don't take that too lightly especially at his age. Yes he's set for life, but men are prideful creatures.

Concussions can happen to anyone. Again it's almost laughable at this point, but let's see how week 6 goes.

Don't tell me. Let me guess. Geno is really lucky again? Just like last season? Saying that the Thibadeaux dropped that pick 6 is really overstating the situation. Had he made that pick it would have been an extremely good play for a lineman.

Geno was harassed pretty consistently tonight. The Giants aren't a good team but they have a good DL. Watching the games live, it seemed like Geno barely had any time on most plays.

Do I think he played well tonight? No. Then again, he never put us in the hole.

FTR, I don't have a problem with you criticizing Geno. But it seems like you are a bit obsessed with criticizing him to prove how right you were about him.

For me, I think this game should be about how great the defense played and specifically how good Spoon looks at this point. I absolutely love how this guy can swing from outside to slot and be a game changer.

Yes the Giants are not a good team. No we aren't going to get another 11 sack game this season. But I do think if the defense can stay healthy with Spoon and Riq and Tre as our corners, we can be pretty darn good. ESPECIALLY if our interior pass rush plays like it has the past 2 games.

We all want him on the field and I too want to see what he's got but at some point the body says enough. Hopefully this is a minor setback and ready for Cinncy.

I'm glad we get a bye to rest but I really hope Jarran Reed is okay. I was skeptical of his movement to NT but the guy has been lights out this season. If we lose him that will be a massive blow. It didn't seem serious, they said 'shin' so he didn't re-aggravate his groin injury or stuff that can really sideline ya for 4-5 weeks... hopefully it's nothing and him being out the rest of the evening was precaution with the way the game was going.

How right i was about him? What that he is Just average and at his best slightly above average? LMAO Oh i know thats the right assessment of him and he will prove it and HAS proven it this year. Remember his last 8+ games last year? Yes? the first 4 games looks like he is that same guy. No where near the juggernaut he was to start last season. Now do i expect him to suck every game? No i don't, he will have a good game or 3 this season with out a doubt and if i remember correctly when Wilson hurt his Hand i said Geno can go at least 2-2 for us when everyone else wrote off every game as a loss. I don't hate or dislike Geno just like i don't hate Jamal Adams I just know what i see and what i see i don't like. The Hawks should be looking for replacements and i think Lock is ready to take over. Have to see what he has because we know who and what Geno is. Lock needed time on the bench to grow and mature he has got that so lets put him in there because he looked great in the preseason when Geno in his limited time looked "Below average". I dont care if you complete 70% of your passes if they are at or behind the LoS, I think almost every poster on this forum could do that. I find it funny that one of our most explosive plays of the season came from Lock don't you? IN ONE SERIES.

Bye and a "how good are we test?" at Cincy

I was actually more concerned that the Bengals would rest him until our game and he'd be 100% and good to go. The fact they are playing him is absolutely fuckin' insane. He took 9 hits against the Titans (and 3 sacks). Now granted he's got the Cards coming up but I don't think Burrow is 100% healthy and I don't think he's gonna get any better with the Bengals continuing to march him out there.

Who knows, but our game against Cincy might not be much of a 'test' at all if Burrow keeps walking out there at 50%. The Bengals OL is better than the Giants but they're not that good at the moment... Burrow is one of the better QBs under pressure (guy deals with non-stop sacks and still finds a way to win) but if he's not fully healthy that becomes a problem for them.

I'll actually be watching the Cards/Bengals game next week to see really how he looks. The Titans are not necessarily a 'powerhouse' defense.

Lets look at Geno's drives

3 plays -7 yards Punt
5 plays 14 yards Punt
2 plays 7 yards TD ( Defense strip sack recover at the 7 )
4 plays 13 yards Punt
9 plays 57 yards TO on Downs ( threw the ball BEHIND the RB )
4 plays 5 yards Missed FG ( Seattle got the ball on the Giants 40 )
3 plays 3 yards Punt
6 plays 29 yards FG ( Defensive INT short field )
Geno Smith 31 QBR

Thankfully the Defense was on the field for 36 Minutes because they were the best part of tonight's game.

121 total yards in 36 plays ( 70.6% of all the offensive plays Seattle got )or 3.3 yards per play and 10 points thanks to the defense for the short fields.

Most common call of the night was " Geno smith passes short for 2 yards. Sucks to have a team with DK Metcalf and Lockett and we throw the ball behind the LoS what seems like 80% of the time lmao.

Oh Geno played an absolute shit game, and then made an ass out of himself costing us 15 yards and acting like a little bitch on a hit that I still don't think is dirty.

He missed open receivers more than once, the pass interference that Lockett got (that was negated by another BS call by the refs) would've been a TD if Geno actually threw it further, and the stupid sidearm crap that he keeps doing while locking onto a receiver for more than 2 seconds is hard to stomach.

Now that said, the Giants DO have a good D-Line... guess who else does? A LOT of other teams including our very own San Fran 9ers... and those teams actually have an offense that can protect their QB and do things. Geno played like crap, and he needs to start going through progressions and pre-snap reads otherwise we're going to get plenty more of these games where the offense barely scores 10 points.

Basically all Geno scored today was 3 points. The fumble/Metcalf TD was a gift, Witherspoons INT TD had nothing to do with him, Lock/Fant got the other TD. He got a field goal. Course could argue he got another field goal if Carroll didn't stupidly go for it.

Geno did not play well this game.
