In a perfect world Detroit re-signs him but its highly unlikely.

And someone pushes Maeda down a flight of stairs.
In a perfect world, Maeda retires and does a Tyler Perry movie where Maeda works in a nail salon and gets into a feud with a customer. It could be called Tyler Perry's Maeda vs Madea.

Everybody local is doing hypotheticals where they give up Miller and/or Painter. I don’t think they can compete with other farms that are going to be buying.

My dream deadline is Arozerena and Mason Miller. If they can make that happen I’m ok with them losing Miller and Painter to get it done. I just think the Phils will have to settle for the second tier for bull pen and OF.
I don't know if I'm as bullish on Arozarena as you are. He has been absolutely horrid this year, although I guess he's starting to come around a little.

Edit: I just looked him up and he did have a good June. Maybe it's a buy low opportunity. I don't know.

Two more years of arbitration. Right handed pop and he fits the clubhouse well with his propensity for big playoff hits. As you say, it could be a buy low opportunity when and if Roberts goes off the table. I think teams can out prospect the Phils and that’s why Miller and Painter are both on the table.

.178 and .198 BABIP in April and May respectively, and even with that horrendous May number, he still managed a 104 wRC+. 163 and 110 in June and July for wRC+. It is a little buy low, but the Rays aren’t giving him away.

Also…….there are pronounced splits this year where he is much better against lefties. Which has been the case, but he’s always been solidly above average for his career against righties, but not this year. If you are trading for him, you think you can tweak that.

My dream for the Orioles is Scherzer, Yates and Tanner Scott.

I do not want Crochet. Give me the veteran with tons of playoff experience that’s going to take the ball behind Burnes and Grayson. I imagine we won’t get him, and we may only get one of Yates and Scott, but bullpen help is definitely needed since I am not confident in Coulombe or Bautista being ready to make a difference.

Phillies have had some luck with hitting instructor Kevin Long being able to help guys tweak stuff. That being said if he can hit lefties that’s something the Phillies sorely need. It will help to get Realmuto back and Bohm hits lefties well but the Phillies splits against LHP this year have been meh. Arozarena Roberts and Rooker would really help. They can then platoon in CF with Marsh/Rojas. That platoon will play every game where the Phillies have a lead for defensive purposes in the late innings.

Why are we here? Cause Nick Castellanos has been feast or famine in Philly and unreliable.

I still think that the Phillies lack a closer. I think the Phils disagree with me. They will likely roll with Hoffman/Alvarado matchups/hot hand. Mason Miller is the only guy I like better than Hoffman that may be on the block. I think your Orioles get him. You can’t go to war with Kimbrel. Trust me. If that guy just blows one game instead of two games in Arizona, I think the Phils are 55/45 to beat Texas. He fell apart in Philly post All Star break after putting up good numbers. Hand him the ball at your peril in October.

The Orioles have the farm I'd be willing to part with Skubal for.

Arozarena with 2 bombs against the Yanks today. Shoulda picked him up yesterday! Nick got a couple hits too though, so maybe he'll heat up. Seriously though Castellanos is such an enigma. I really want him to do well. They came into that off season a couple years ago with a good core and literally admitted they were going to spend stupid money to get a quality bat. They don't need him to be an MVP or even an all star. For 20m a year they just need him to be a little above average, and so far he's only managed to do that one out of 3 years. Last years stats were exactly what they expected to get every year-not great, kind of shitty OBP, but good batting average and some power. Is it too much to ask for him to give them that again?

It’s because he is a See Ball Hit Ball guy. Hes all God given ability. He can’t be taught or drilled. His approach is always garbage. I’m amazed that people throw him strikes. He just gets himself out.

Yeah you can't underestimate how much this team needs Schwarber and Harper in the lineup. Even when they're 'scuffling" they are drawing walks and getting on base and running up pitch counts. Turner is kind of a hacker as well but he has a little better quickness than Nick so hopefully he won't decline for a couple more years.

Update: Randy now 4-5 with two bombs and a double

Trading all year round then a Team that were buyers might want to sell at end of September. Midnight then more Trades would happen on Deadline day. At All-Star Break then GM's can be live to talk Trades even at Draft and would be on TV all 3 days.

Diamondbacks Buyers. Some team's could be buyers and sellers. Theirs needs to be a Trade everyday because haven't had one since last Saturday. Cause day before and day of to make Amsinger happy and a lot tricking in after bell. Hopefully Rsys,Royals,Cardinals add.

I just don’t think they are going to part with the pieces necessary for Skubal or Crochet. They do need a starter if they can’t bring back Burnes- it remains to be seen how much the new owner can add to payroll- but we do know that Peter Angelos put up to $160 million into the payroll at the end of the last contending cycle, so there is room to go.

I think they are looking to hold onto Basallo, Mayo and Holliday. Everyone else is up for sale, which means they aren’t ending up with Skubal or Crochet.

I say if Scherzer is available, get him and give you the playoff experience to put after Burnes and Grayson, then go after 1-2 bullpen arms and just worry about this year.

Painter is going to be an ace. I think if you offered him and some lower pieces for Miller the A's would have to seriously consider it.

Shit- if the Guardians were not in it- I would give up Clase for Painter.

If the O's made that deal they would def. be the favorites to win the WS. They def have the ammo to.

It would need to be a haul- like Mayo, Kjersted and another guy a little lower down.

Orioles are gonna have some interesting decisions down the road a little ways.

Obviously one that is coming up soon is Burnes- who will want a huge deal---- down the road when Rutschman and Henderson come up they will command massive deals- top 10 in the league deals for each.

It will be interesting to see how the Orioles deal with that. Maybe that is why Basallo, Mayo and Holliday are being staggered a little bit- apart from just not having the openings and their organic development.

Obv. Henderson is going to get a humongous deal but Rutschman is just so valuable in so many ways. To have a catcher like that who is a leader and keeps getting better. That guy is going to get the biggest deal in MLB history for a catcher- EASILY.

To get Skubal they probably gonna have to deal Mayo. And imo id do it if Im detroit.

EAsily Mayo and more. 3 pennant races for the likely AL Cy Young winner is going to cost a massive amount- esp. in this market. Mayo would just have to be the headliner.

I would say Mayo, Kjersted and another guy somewhere between 7 and 12 in their system.

Playoffs are different and the O’s puckered last year. That’s why regardless of how they look on paper I would have a hard time saying they’re the World Series favorites.
