Jon Morosi of MLB Network reports that Aaron Judge is in agreement to return to the Yankees.

It'll be a nine-year deal worth $360 million, per Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic. Judge apparently had a similar offer on the table from the Giants -- at least in terms of overall guaranteed dollars -- but he'll head back to the Bronx on a new nine-year pact that will run through his age-39 campaign at an average annual value of $43.33 million. The four-time All Star set a new single-season AL home run record (62) in 2022 en route to being named American League MVP for the first time in his career. He slashed .311/.425/.686 across his 696 total plate appearances, falling just short of becoming the first Yankees player to win the Triple Crown since Mickey Mantle in 1956.

Damn! Report coming out now that there wasn’t a difference in years and that San Diego offered 342 million (1 million more than Mets gave Lindor). Turner took less money to come to Philly. It looks like playoff baseball and that atmosphere being on display this October was a great recruiting tool. (Along with Bryce Harper).
Surprising since the Padres also want to resign Soto in the next year or two.

Philly also has a much more hitter friendly park - that could've factored in.

He'll be 40 next season. I can't see him having near the impact of DeGrom over the next few seasons.
Except he actually pitches games, DeGrom ALWAYS misses starts. Next 2 years I think Verlander is the better bet for overall production.

Definitely a bit of a gamble. We'll see how it plays out.

Padres trying to buy that championship but all the other NL top guns are adding guys and I expect the Dodgers to make some moves too.

That Bogaerts trade is obnoxiously bad.

Gonna need to win a handful of titles.

Some of these teams are getting desperate throwing around these huge contracts. Machado, Soto, Tatis, Bogearts and all that pitching…you better win a title, multiple

their pitching isn't even that good. lol

Sad to see Xander go, but I'm glad the Sox aren't committing to that extent and I'm glad he'll at least be on the West Coast on an NL team.

This FA cycle has reminded everybody that guys don’t want to hit 81 games in Petco. Judge turned them down. Turner turned them down for less money.
That's a good point. I don't think it's quite as bad for righthanded batters as lefties but it's definitely not gonna be as friendly as Fenway for Bogaerts.

I think certain guys should see Petco as a bonus for them. That’s a big outfield. Gap hitters who lack that 25 HR power potential can make themselves more valuable choosing a spot like Petco over a bandbox.

Petco is also a great place for a relief pitcher to revive his career. Go there for a season, put up a low era then sign a deal with some other team dumb enough to buy into them.

Yeah and that length of a deal for a guy like Bogaerts who doesnt have much power.

When he hits mid 30s. If that .300ish average dont stay the same and he dips into a .270 hitter. Hes gonna start slugging like .370.
