Not sure, but think one of the first HS to NBa players (or maybe it was ABA first).

Didn't know that he jumped from HS to the NBA. Good call there.

Lebron is already a top 2-5 player of all time. #2 is as high as he will go though and the gap between #1 and #2 is quite large.

I think if someone was asked to sculpt the perfect specimen for basketball -- it'd be Lebron James.

If I were to have my kid look at a NBA player I wanted him to look at as a role model. It'd be Lebron James. It is refreshing to see a superstar who has a normal family and is with his high school sweetheart.

He just doesn't have that killer mentality many of the greats were born with. If he did -- he'd be unstoppable.
if you say so

I remember a great picture from Sampson blocking it. I think it was an NBA ad in Sports Illustrated. It had Samspson blocking the shot and if memory serves, the caption said: "When 7'2" isn't tall enough". lol

I think Willoughby was the non center who blocked his shot from the back.

I still say Kareem should have played somewhere else other than L.A. after his time in Milwaukee.

You know what's funny? Trustme hates anything Ohio but his idol Jim mutha fuckin' Harbaugh's from Toledo.

Someone needs to write a letter to DeWine demanding Toledo be blocked off from the rest of the state. A fence, a wall, a moat. I don't give a fuck. Time to give Toledo back to the state of MI. Even the Rockets colors are blue & gold. Communists.

I disagree with the backlash part.

MJ definitely got some at different points in time because of the gambling and he obviously couldn’t ever go anywhere in public. But by and large he was protected and I don’t think he got nearly as much backlash as LeBron does.

Again, because I think for the most part, people tend to look for reasons to like MJ and to justify his actions while it is almost the opposite for LeBron.

Well put. could you imagine if Lebron retired instead of trying to play with a lesser coach and/or teammates?

When Jimmy the Great arrived in ann arbor back in 2015 he was slobbering all over himself & proclaiming JH as an equal to Meyer. Why? NFL coaching success.

Have to admit I did think he'd be better than he's been....but not Meyer good.

Closest I can find is that apparently someone tracked all of the skyhooks he shot in the 1983 playoffs.

The person who tracked them, tracked 15 games, 10 of which were against Hall of Fame centers Artis Gilmore and Moses Malone. He hit 50% of them.

Looking at that and assuming he would hit a higher percentage against centers who weren't as good as Gilmore and Malone, it's safe to say that he hit over 50%.

Why Kareem Abdul-Jabbar’s skyhook was pretty much unstoppable

Kareem's playoff career FG% is .533. Maybe his skyhook shooting percentage is higher than 50%, but would you say that 53.3% would be the highest it could have been? He must've has his fair share of shots at the rim and he almost never shot threes.

He did have a higher regular season FG%. .559 for his career.

I think everyone expected that, including myself. As far as The Rivalry he's put himself in the recordbooks for all the the wrong reasons.

He didn't attempt a 3 pointer until '87. His 18th year in the league. He was a true low post threat, one of the best ever. Todays game doesn't have anything like him.

which one should he have won? Lebron was probably more worthy than Curry in 2014-15.

Curry was really more valuable than Iguodala. I read somewhere that his stats in that Finals was as good as Dirk's when he won Finals MVP. Yeah, LeBron played great. The only thing you could criticize was his shooting percentage.

2018 was a coin flip with Durant. Curry would've been a deserving Finals MVP there, too.

He didn't shoot 3's, but he did shoot from the perimeter more than most centers of his era. It wasn't rare to see him shooting from 10-15 feet. So that's gonna drag his shooting percentage down a good bit.

He wasn't real physical either. Which is the one criticism I have about his game.

There were times that he would miss a close shot because he would try to avoid the contact instead of looking to "power dunk". So instead of a chance at a 3 point play or at least a couple of free throws...he'd end up with a missed shot.

Cannot say I agree, but those comments can all be justified.

Yeah, pretty sad when NOT getting arrested with hookers and blow, or a domestic fight, or DUI, or gambling, etc is seen as a bad thing.

Unfortunately, that is the world we live in.

Well, in fairness, LeBron’s response would be to change teams.

I actually do think retiring would be better received by most fans. Although I don’t think that is fair.

Agree with what you said here.

But, I was talking about LeBron and Curry, not MJ.

So you think Lebron has the killer instinct, win at all cost mentality, the step on the throat of your mother to win, that guys like MJ and a very select few have had?

I think this is overblown in MJ.

He had such a killer instinct that instead of play for another coach he retired. did he forget about this instinct all those times he lost big games and/or missed big shots? when he failed to even get to the Finals?
