If you judge more than 1 year back, you are getting too much "noise".

Perhaps, but I think you're only stating this because you don't think it isn't possible to look at individual match-ups farther back than the current year.

Look at this year against the laundry, then look at the career numbers against each of the individuals.

No need to do the former, when you do the latter.

Interesting. Zito plays to the level of competition. That's rare to see in a non-power pitcher. Guys like Randy Wolf, Chris Capuano and Wandy Rodriguez usually clean-up on the dregs of the league.

Yes, Hensley has been absolute trash lately..... but Kontos can return in 10 days whereas Hensley would be gone (bad thing? Maybe). I would keep Mota and Kontos over Hensley, but but will management when you risk losing one when you could eventually have all 3?
