Wins is the most important stat, because great pitchers pitch to the score.

Doesnt deserve it's own thread, but I was not sure where else to put it...

Look at the starting lineup for the Phils tonight. There is more Giants love in there than in the Giants lineup...

Rollins
Schierholtz

Utley
Howard
Mayberry
Brown
Frandsen
Kratz
Worley

3/8 grew up as BIG Giants fans, but are now philthy Phils...

Bobby Evans on Mr. T.

Scutaro at 3rd and Pablo at 1st?:
“Pablo’s very important to our lineup, and given what happened at 1st (base), I think we’re going to have to be conservative…He(Scutaro) can play a number of different places. He can move around…I know that’ll be something Bochy and Brian will be working though, but there’s certainly a lean to keep Pablo at 3rd (base).”

Belt strikeouts:
“His strikeout percentage is above what we saw from him in the minor leagues and probably even more so than what we saw last year. His head has got to stay still and he’s got to stay back, and he knows that…Sometimes his head positioning and his approach can put him in that position (of striking out). He’s guessing maybe a little more than he should. Maybe he’s trying to do too much.”

Bullpen:
“I think Runzler has particularly thrown well in AAA and could come up and play a bigger role in our bullpen than maybe even depth wise. He may play a key role.”

Gary Brown:
“I saw him be very good in Richmond just a couple of weeks ago, in fact, better than I’ve ever seen him. Just very aggressive. Swinging the bat extremely well…He’s made the adjustment…I can see it(timetable to big leagues) moving much more quickly.”

Pagan at lead-off?:
“That might be a good way to get him going…That’s part of where he started the year…just trying to get on and not trying to do too much like in the middle of the order.”

Interesting about Runzler. Obviously, by his numbers, there ins't much too impressive except for the strikeouts. But there's always something more to the numbers, his velocity is upper 90s still and he's really harnessed his slider, his arm slot continues to be an issue though.

And on Brown, maybe we will see him have a shot at the big club next year out of Spring Training after all.

Maybe. Would love to see some recent video of his swing as it is now. As for Runzler, he's the only legit major league arm on the 40 who is not already on the 25. I'm sure we'll see him soon.

Can you believe this stat, Craig Kimbrel of Atlanta, in his last 28 innings pitched, has 50 strikeouts and ONE walk ERA under 1. Kid's dominant.

So I'm BS'ing with a coworker about his tattoos, and in the conversation he states that he's a big Doggie fan. So I make the connection and ask him facetiously if he was in on the Bryan Stow beating. He was not amused. But he did say the his former girlfriend was the lady involved in the incident. Mf'er. It's a small world.

Buster Posey is the only hitter on the current 25-man roster from the 2010 championship team...

Huff, Franchez and Panda are all on the DL...

Penney to DL, Otero gets another shot. In case you were wondering why Pill wasn't recalled, you have to wait 10 days before you can be recalled after being sent back down. So Boch sticking with the 13 man staff.

I think the 10-day rule is waived if you are replacing someone going on the DL.
