Apparently Zach Miller had ankle surgery during the bye week and will miss some time while it heals. Even if it was minor surgery, I can't imagine he'll be back anytime soon. So that leaves us with Willson and Helfet at tight end. Hopefully Helfet can take care of blocking duties to free Willson up in the passing game, but we'll see.

Well that sucks. Sounds like he won't be back until the end of the season probably so he'll burn a roster spot for a long while.

This is a big blow, he hasnt caught the ball much but he is invaluable as a blocker.

He'd been getting some odd flags lately, wonder if the injury played a role in that?

Hopefully it'll be just a few weeks, but damn it we need him on the line.

I dont really care about him as a pass catcher that much but losing his blocking sucks. Especially since Okung is struggling and Britt is still hit or miss. He was a nice safety blanket to have help out. I think Willson is the better offensive weapon but definately a huge downgrade in the blocking department.

We'll have to see how good a blocker Helfet is, because that's the guy that will probably be thrust into Miller's role.

Gilliam has been a TE in the past, and Bailey can help out as an extra tackle at times.

But yeah, this is a tough loss. Better now than at the end of the season I suppose.

I heard 5-6 weeks.

I'm actually excited to see what Willson can bring in the offense. Yes, blocking will probably lack a bit, but I really liked what I saw from him last year before he got injured. Just means more scrambling for Russell and probably 1 second less time in the pocket on average.

I haven't really been as worried about the offense this year so far as prior years with Harvin providing a big boost, so I'm hoping this won't be a big issue. I've been much more watchful of our run D at the line and obviously our coverage from the LB position.

I like Zach Miller but I think Willson can fill in just fine if the rest of the team plays Seahawk football. The TE shouldn't cost us a game if the potent offense is working and the dominant defense is shutting down the weaker opponents we have coming up.
