Nobody. But it comes down to this: Which is gerater?

Wallace

or

Vincent Jackson + Peter Konz + more money

or

Kendal Wright + Carl Nicks + more money

or

Reuben Randle + Robert Mathis + more money

It's actually a close call IMO, but I'd give the edge to the pick + other FAs.

Also I'll bet the Steelers make it so the Niners would have to give up a 1st and a 3rd.

Well, i would take Vincent Jackson and Peter Konz over Wallace probably, but we don't know if we will be able to snag either one of them. It's more of a gamble to get into a bidding war for VJ and hope that Konz falls to us. Wallace is also younger than VJ.

NFL.com news: Steelers WR Wallace openly flirts with 49ers, Patriots

Steelers WR Wallace openly flirts with 49ers, Patriots

Mike Wallace arguably is the greatest deep threat in football today, so you can safely assume he'll garner serious interest on the free-agent market if the Steelers can't lock up the wide receiver to a new contract.

Wallace visited SiriusXM NFL Radio on Wednesday to discuss his pending trip to restricted free agency. Specifically, he was asked if he'd be interested in playing for the 49ers or Patriots, two teams in dire need of a vertical threat like him.

"Most definitely. Those are two playoff-caliber teams. Super Bowl-caliber teams," said Wallace, who averaged 18.7 yards per catch in his first three NFL seasons. "I think that the right person or the right piece for those guys could put them over the top. All they need is one more piece ... most definitely, those are Super Bowl-contending teams."

I think Wallace is too one dimensional. He has the speed, and a hell of a lot of it. But we also need that big redzone threat. I really want Vincent jackson, but he will be very expensive. but we will soon fined out!

that's our biggest need on offense. vernon gives us a vertical threat already

One could also look it as this.... Is there a draft pick(outside of Blackmon) that could be considerably better than Wallace?

Also, exactly how much $ is Wallace going to demand/ask for... I think that needs to explored more(obviously) before we start building up scenarios and what not.

Still a Colston fan here lol....

A draft pick? Yes. Matt Kalil. A WR who's significantly better? Probably not. Slightly better? Reuben Randle might have a ton of potential (I'm waiting on his combne).

Wallace is playing give me more money talk....It's like how Kurt Warner visited the 49ers it was just away for him to get the cards to give him more money...I think we need to continue build through the draft and sign free agents to fill in the holes

That is quite possible. It worked out for Warner.

In the end, i think the Steelers will lose Wallace if they don't use the franchise tag on him or sign him to a long term deal. Wallace becoming a Patriot scares the hell out of me.

Same here, but I think the Steelers would match if the Pats make him an offer; they might give him up to the NFC but not to the AFC Champs.

Yeah, that should make a difference in terms of what they may be willing to give up to keep him. If the Pats go after him then i think the Steelers have to match it (if then can).

That's why, if I were the Pats, I'd offer him near Fitz-like money because the Steelers would practically have to match it.

They removed the ban on poison pills in the new CBA. You write in a clause that says his contract becomes fully guaranteed if he plays 6 games in Pittsburgh in a season, or catches 25 balls in Pittsburgh in one season. Pittsburgh matching that would cripple them.

Didn't you just contradict yourself there? The 6 games in Pittsburgh or 25 balls in Pittsburgh is the definition of a "poison pill," which they can't use. Correct?

I read it as, they removed the ban on poison pills, hence it was banned before but they now removed the ban thus allowing the poison pill effect?

Oh sorry; I misread it.

They removed the ban on poison pills? That's the stupidest thing I've heard since the---

Never mind; I won't bring that stupid rule up again.
