Exactly. Once Carter was traded, weren't they in the clear? If not, it seems like there had to be SOMEONE they could have moved, other than Richards. I bet Sather could have been talked into taking on Hartnell's contract.

Yeah, I understand the Carter deal. It's really not that bad but the Richards one really is a head scratcher. It's like Holmgren was too lazy to try and attempt to move other players like Hartnell.

Nah, Richie takes to many games off, I like him as a player but not a club leader.

You're not gonna find many centers better than Richards these days. If Schenn doesn't pan out then you're going to be pretty weak down the middle.

I don't understand though. The Flyers were one of the best teams in the league last year and got eliminated early because a lot of their roster was injured. There were much better options for them then trading their 2 best offensive players.
