Simmonds seems like he fits the Flyers style and Bryzgalov is a huge upgrade from what they had. They got rid of the adulterer, added picks and have some breathing room in the cap department. Win win for the Flyers.

I think they are gonna have a go at Brad Richards ... I dont think its coincidence that news came out this morning (before the trades) that Brad Richards wasnt going to waive his NMC prior to July 1

I didn't realize the bonus cushion wnet away this year, that certainly hurts the cause. with the current cap situation if no one else is moved the FFlyesr will most likely look like this next season(or something close to it)...

Yea but does Stamkos "want" to play in Tampa? He seems like a class act and all, but does a budding superstar want to play in a city that under appreciates him?


I hope he stays because I really like the lightning team they are putting together, but you just have to question whether he wants to pick his team in free agency.

He knows that the Lightning will be good for a long time with Yzerman as GM. I think he'll be resigned as long as they can afford him.

I do like that Schenn is compared to guess who, Mike Richards as a player. May take a few years before he is the Richards from a few years ago.

Interesting comparison here: Pens have 18 players signed and 7.912 mil in space. Philly has 18 signed and 7.576 in space. I understand you have a little more with waiving a few guys, but I REALLY can't see you going after Richards. Especially since he probably wants a long-ish term deal.
