I didn’t see any trolling in your posts either, I think Cowboy fandom is so used to being trolled that when a non-Cowboy fan analyzes their team in a certain way that they disagree with it’s “trolling”, at least in this case.

I don’t see any other way it making sense.

It sounds like McCarthy is starting to plant the seeds that things weren't his fault if things go south.

McCarthy only has a job because he's willing to let Jones be Jones and I'd imagine it's pretty much common knowledge in coaching circles that if you're going to be the Cowboys' HC you'll have to be Jones' buddy and let him be the unofficial co-coach with you.

I think the Lions will be quite good and may be better than Philly. I don't understand the "It's going to be Philly and SF" point when that's not even what happened by the end of last year. Let's see how Philly responds. I could see Sirianni getting fired by midseason if they get off to a slow start. He should have been fired last year.

It could even be Dallas/SF! The Cowboys have a lot of talent, and even though they have a lot of contract year questions and apparent roster holes, they could come together IMO. I think frankly that if Will McClay worked for a different owner, he would have multiple rings by now. He's been a very good personnel guy, the problem is the Jones family.

I root hard for the Lions, both sides of my family are from Michigan and they have suffered long enough. But I believe they had their chance and missed, I think Goff reverts to Jared Goff, the league figures out that offense to some extent, and they do not reach the NFCG again.

What do you mean by “Goff reverts to Jared Goff”? He’s a good QB IMO, it’s not like last year was his only good year or that he’s some one year wonder, he’s had several strong seasons. He gets way too much hate to be honest, he’s a good QB. In fact in the NFC he’s a top 5 QB right now.

Years of watching the Rams when Jared 'Goof' was at the helm is what makes me think that comment was made.

That said, the Lions have one of the top OLs in the league and quite a bit of set of weapons, so it's not likely...

Goff was not a bad QB when he was with the Rams - he led them to the playoffs multiple times including an appearance in Super Bowl 53. He’s always been pretty good. The Stafford/Goff trade was great for both teams - the Rams won it all with Stafford and Goff has played better in Detroit than he did with the Rams and is thriving.

It's moreso he has only been good under very specific conditions. If you need a top 5 or so offensive roster and a top 3 OLine to be good, you're not a good QB. You're mediocre at best.

Goff has had 4 very good seasons and 3 sub-par seasons in the last 7 years. He's a very good QB with a low floor. If he drags a below average team down rather than elevates it, pfff so what? If you want to lose with nice stats get Kirk Cousins.

I don't think Goff is a plus starter either, but he can be good enough to win one IMO on the right team. The odds of his team beating a team like the Chiefs in a big game is always going to be lower because of him, but in the NFL you ride with a pretty good starter who can get you in the playoffs.
