Never has one person's "style" influenced the game more.
Wade says, "What about my style?"

Late bloomer?
Example: LeBron is more naturally talented than Jordan. LeBron was identified as an early teen as being an elite talent and potential NBA star. Jordan was cut by his high school basketball team.
Much greater work ethic.
Tiger's peak is pretty much unparalleled but Tiger's career is not up there with Gretzky or MJ.I'll keep it simple.
Best two way (OFC & DEF) basketball player to play the game.
Probably the most clutch NBA player ever in the big games...imo the only people in sports period to be on par with him...team sport Gretzky and individual sport Tiger.

The big thing with MJ is that he left basketball for 2 years. Bulls had a 3 peat before and after and no title when he was gone. Magic and Bird were part of truly great teams with long runs. The Bulls were Michael Jordan and some nice surrounding players except for maybe 1 year of that run.
MJ also beat back a Suns team he had no business beating except that he was Michael Jordan.
He had the flu in a game and dominated.
He did the most with the opportunity that he got. You put MJs determination in Shaqs body and he wins 9-10 titles.
He also caught the NBA in the height of dunking. Slam dunk contest with Dominique Wilkins set the bar too high for everyone else
Those dunk contests helped popularize the sport a lot more than people give credit for IMO
What era in particular are you talking about? I want some names of superstars and teams, please.Increased popularity rarely results in a better product, though. The dunk contests probably did net more fans, but it actually degraded the quality of basketball played in the NBA by trumping total team efforts with star isolations and showmanship.
For real though, MJ was in Space Jam which is the best movie of all-time and he defeated the Monstars. Name one other NBA player to dunk from half court and defeat a bunch of 20+ feet tall monsters. You can't. GOAT.
