Follow the money. It's all about the Tubmans.

If the big donors get to keep Urban as a coach, they will gladly sacrifice an AD who should have been fired long ago anyhow. Surely Meyer knows this.

It is now a power struggle. Someone will pay for the black eye. When that happens, we will know who runs OSU athletics

This isn't a surprise from you. The English language has escaped you for some time now.

Yes, he probably did change that language. It went from 'Arrested' to 'Investigated'. To the dipshits of the world this means he entirely made up a story and lied about it. To everyone else it means he was following a story and wasn't careful about proofreading and ensuring his facts were straight.

And stop with the fucking time stamp utter bullshit. Again HE didn't take a screen shot you fucking boob, the chick took it and sent it to him. Stop being so utterly dumb.
Not surprised your focus is me but....

A) There is a massive difference between claiming. One contacted the police and was told about arrests. To there were no arrests just an investigation.

B) Time stamps matter whether you want to admit it or not. They confirm the date of the text.As well as the credibility of the text and the "reporter".It doesn't matter who took the screen shot. He tweeted it as a fact. When without time stamps its only use is to incite anger and draw attention to his "story".

Which is exactly where the OP is correct. If we rely on Twitter reporters. Especially social media reporters who aren't credible. You're just opening the door for the next program to be violated for a pay check....

Then again you don't seem to understand the significance the use of a simple of a date or time stamp so......:L

I am not even talking about McMurphy, I am talking about the politics inside of OSU. It makes next to 0 sense that Meyer would lie to the public if there was no truth to the story. Even if you assume that the story is baseless, you still have to question Meyers credibility
Not when the issue Meyers is being judged on. Comes from a social media source who's credibility is dropping fast. Maybe we get three of these next year. When people see buying a story and working it through social media pays big.

This doesn't even look like the Smiths are the issue now. Its starting to look more like the focus is on the dislike of OSU and Meyers. I'm surprised no one has said the panic is palpable yet...

But you seem to be ignoring the fact that Meyer has given McMurphy credibility, regardless of whether or not he deserves it. Once he lied and recanted, it is hard for anyone to look at this as a simple hit piece

Fine, tell me why you think it makes sense for Meyer to lie and then recant the story

Tell me where it makes more sense to punish a coach. Because someone on twitter was looking for a pay day? Based on a story that reads like meyers was supposed to be a marriage counselor.? Where we still don't know the extent of what Meyers knew because the reporters story changed?

As opposed to a coach who allows a player to play injured. And lies to the press risking player safety?

Or the other non big name programs. Where theres most likely multiple stories similar or the same?

But Meyers is supposed to lose his job. because of the reports of a "reporter" who keeps flipping. And because people don't like him and or OSU?

You are just deflecting. This whole story has devolved or evolved, depending on your view, to a debate on how Meyer handled this situation. It is not unsimilar to Tressel. Nobody gave a damn about tattoos, but when the lying and covering up happened things got real. That is where we are now. Meyer is the one that introduced that narrative. The question now is can you rely on Meyer/AD to make hard decisions that could interfere with winning

No, it is entirely you that is out of touch and way out in left field. I know that's a shock to so many up here.

You keep making blanket claims while calling out a reporter for doing the same. The hypocrisy is frankly staggering.

Claiming he should change time stamps on a screen shot sent to him by someone else is just dumb. You are in fact then asking him to photoshop it because the screenshot was already taken. He would have to have the entire text chain forwarded to him in order to change the format and add more detail to the screenshot. He simply passed along what was sent to him. The chick was the ONLY person who could change how that was formatted.

And yes, there is a difference between arrested and investigated. No one claimed otherwise. That factual difference wouldn't have changed his bringing up and asking about the situation in the first place so claiming he lied or fabricated it ignores common sense. He's a hack that got facts mixed up and posted inaccuracies in his initial story. They do it all the time.

I was listening to Fox Sports and they said this Brett McMurphy had an axe to grind with Urban Meyer and has been going after Urban for a while. Anyone know the backstory on this?

Nope I said from the start I would wait for actual facts. Rather than take the word of a twitter reporter. Who coincidentally got a big pay day and job. Based on a story that has completely changed directions. And more facts would be known as the actual investigation progresses. You’re talking a lot about Ohio State and Urban Meyers past tho. When the issue was supposed to be what Urban knew about the Smith situation. Which has now changed. Will you hold McMurphy accountable if Meyers didn’t know as much about the Smiths relationship. As we wereoriginau misled to believe?

Robo- by the way, perhaps I am over estimating Meyer. I believe he is shrewd human being. He has coaches in the lime light and worked in the media, so he should know how this works. His presser and subsequent letter just do not make sense. If this was Ed Oregeron, I would totally believe he screwed up the presser

Yeah get back to me when you understand the significance of a time stamp. And the difference between Arrested and investigated...Details and facts are kinda important here

That hasn’t changed. Urban admitted he knew about 2015 and lied when he said he had no knowledge of it originally

Did he say the nature of what he knew? The Smiths seemed to have s very complicated toxic relationship. I could see where anyone would t know the full story between them. And now it looks like there was no arrest as initially reported..... But let’s listen to McMurphy and assume

Do you realize you are not getting $1200 an hour to argue this? The guy admitted he lied. There is no need to argue semantics

Yep but I'm sure McMurphy got a lot more than $1200. To put out a story using a bit name. To gain traction in order to get that paycheck. And now that he got paid and has that job he wanted.Along with the OSU investigation the entire nature of his report is changing. I'm going to ask again tho.

If they find Meyers didnt know as much as much as people think he knew. And it turns out we were misled by McMurphy. Do you hold McMurphy accountable?

What does anyone assume Meyer knows? You are taking a great leap here. The only thing people are assuming is Meyer is covering up something and that idea was not given to people by McMurphy

Who said either was unimportant? I said you are a total twat for accusing the reporter of faking the text messages to begin with and claiming his bad reporting was intentional instead of sloppy.

Those are the facts.
