Week 1 Post-Game Report

Barbarians at the Gate
No close games here:
  • JDM was the class of both leagues, rolling up 178 on poor Barilko (who lost by 50 despite having the third-best score in the B league)
  • Bandit clubbed the drone 151-90
  • Foot burned Microwahevo 122-95
  • TK took down Sox 102-87
  • cblake cooked Chef 100-84
  • HaroldSeattle mopped up MilkSpiller 93-65

Keepers of the Flame
  • Tlance suffered a similar fate to Barilko, getting third-most points (123) but falling to Sam's league-best 149
  • Lefty peytoned a resilient Monkey for a closer-than-expected 139-120 victory
  • Ram head-butted TKO 122-82
  • Duff (in absentia) held off Scape's late RGII charge, 91-81
  • ww squeaked out a 112-108 win over Fuzzy with a Vincent Brown Grazed Pylon
  • and in the Odd Result of the Week, Treff somehow didn't lose to Joe (can't really call it a win) 99-97

A vs. B
I must have missed a player or someone must have changed their late lineup - I though the Keepers of the Flame would beat the Barbarians by 1 point, but in fact the difference came out to be 29:
Keepers of the Flame - 1324
Barbarians at the Gate - 1295

Well that is thanks to milkspiller only getting 65 points this week... talk about embarassing... Funny thing is, i checked the previews before all the matches, and it said that my team wasnt just going to win but it would score the most points in the league...

That performance by Philly last night was impressive. It will be interesting to see if it how long that style works.
Will- That late DST TD by Houston cost me our matchup. I am in 5 leagues and that TD cost me two wins. ouch!!!

I'll take it - a Week 1 win against the defending champ is a good start.

Well, you don't hear that on these boards every day - or any day for that matter. Feel free to join up at www.http://sportstalknstuff.freeforums.net/. We could use a cool guy like you on our forums. :suds:

I don't fault the projections for being wrong because they're really hard to do. But I sure don't put much stock in them.

A ton of big numbers this week. 178 from JDM is absolutely insane.

What might be more impressive though, a guy in 1 of my leagues put up 172 with Romo as his QB (same scoring system).

Right there's with ya Ram... worst roster in the league, figured I'd surely lose maybe even have lowest score... then somehow I suck out the ugliest win I've ever seen. .. at least there were no RB gems to be had anyways.

Waiver consolation prize for my week one bad beat- Julian Edelman. Hope that Brady keeps relying on him. He still doesn't make my starting lineup yet- maybe bye week guy.
Anyone else think they had drafted well only to get slapped down in week one (4 out of five matchups)?

I thought I drafted good but knew I took some chances. Miller was the biggest and so far he couldn't be a bigger bust.

I wish I had something worth trading you for, for Miller.

Taking offers for Ahmad Bradshaw. WR would be my first choice.
