I only do mocks any more to make sure the interface works on my system. Either you're facing lots of auto-picks (especially from the mid-rounds on) or people trying out theories like "What happens if I take Graham first overall?"

I do them, but mostly because I'm just too obsessed. I agree 100% with what you say here. I just want to know why so many people go into a draft just to see who falls to them at the back of the 1st, or back of the 2nd (for those at the front of the draft) and then leave. Can drive me crazy, but I still do it... I've never done a mock where at least half the league was auto drafting kickers in round 9... which brings another question, why can't the sites auto pick kickers last?

I will say this for Fantasy Pros.... If you do plan on doing a mock or two... I would DEFINITELY use their "simulation" because I did notice that they mix up the picks (as if you do multiple drafts at the same position). Plus it's not like other mock drafts where 11 other guys get on and a few only make through the first 3 or 4 rounds, then bugger off, to let autopick do the rest.

They mix the picks in their simulation and you are the only one actually selecting players. Goes fast, and seems more realistic. (Even if they will not like your team afterwards.)

See, but if you would have spent the $15 you could run multiple mocks with multiple rankings on auto. Takes like 18.2 seconds.....................to get a team they don't like..........lol. All in all, mocks pretty much suck except to get familiar with the draft room and ensure your computer is compatable.

I agree totally. I used the mock on fantasy pros and what I like about it is that it's quick but you still get to select your players and it's random. You can at least see what your team will look like if you go RB/RB in the first round as opposed to RB/WR or RB/QB.

There isnt a mock around that would've prepared us for how last night went down.
They have their purpose of course, but when in a real league, with what I consider 11 other REAL experts...not so much

With the news that Richardson is the starter in STL, I have a question. Who is best value in a one year keeper league (retain in the spot drafted, FA go in Rd 6). Matt Forte (pick 18) or Richardson (FA - pick 66) ?

I'm still going Forte. That value for D-Rich would be fantastic if you could assure me he'll be starting the whole season and be effective... but since you can't, I'd take the sure thing with Forte.

Beware of "gotcha" sports reporting, which has followed the trend of "gotcha" reporting in journalism generally. If they can include the word "starter" or "surgery" or "cart-off" in a headline they will, even if they know full well that the real story isn't what those words imply.

In this case, Pead is suspended and Stacy is dinged, and Fisher said (direct quote), "Daryl probably would take the first snap against Arizona" and the reporters all scurried off with "he's named Richardson the starter!"

Given the situation and what Fisher actually said, that might be the most transient starter designation since Shanahan named Hightower starter and gave him one snap.

glad I waited until after lunch - wil nailed this one about the Rams.

I want Fisher to say that DRich is the starter for weeks 2-17, then I'll push him up my draft board. Right now, he can stay with the rest of the RBBC guys, I have him at the top tier of RBBC guys though. He seems like the easy choice to get more touches than Pead/Stacy, but still will be in a committee.

Acknowledged. I guess maybe I was hoping to have a viable way to free up my second pick. Anyway, since I asked the question, I've gone through the scenarios keeping each guy based upon what everyone else is keeping - - - and Forte comes out the clear winner. ... There is no way Forte would fall to me for redraft in the second, whereas Richardson will be there in the mid-rounds if I really want him come draft day.

Thanks to all for your input.

First swing and miss at a waiver pick up. Dwyer goes to TLance- he coulda been a Fuzzy.

Dropped Michael Bush for Dwyer. From what i'm reading, it looks like he's not even gonna get vulture opportunities in Trestman's system, so I guess we'll see. Damn, I feel like a novice right now!

I play one week at a time. That's why I am psyched to be the drafter of Richardson. Watch out for team marsupials in week one. They will make you regret not being as Awsome as me!!!

I am hoping that I am able to drop Dwyer soon. The only way he is relevant is if Bell out, and I do not want that.

How much different will RB ranks be two weeks from today? Could be substantial.

Not to put a monkey wrench in everyone's Dwyer conversation, but isn't Isaac Redman Bell's backup?

I'm not interested in either (Dwyer or Redman). I've already seen what they can do (or not do).

Me neither...............at all........................ever.......................spent a damn 3rd rounder on him as I knew he would never get past Will of WR's or Will of Bush #1

Redman has a stinger and Dwyer looked good last night (well, except for that fumble thingy). Somebody posted an article from a Pitt newspaper pretty much naming Dwyer until Bell is healthy.............
