pretty sure it was 2010, but could be wrong.
That was around the time I started being active on the boards on CBS, but y'all were already on those boards before I got there.

The first year I missed the roll call to be considered for the league, if my memory serves, and then I was in it the 2nd year.
3rd year was when Barbarians were added.

if we had a volunteer to run it, that pick your top 5 WRs/RBs game we used to play was a lot of fun.

Foot picking Seiji Aritutu dude from chargers was a classic one.

It could've been 2010 and then 2011 Barbarians, memory is a bit hazy, wish I had access to those CBS leagues, or that the old massage board existed to go back and see some of that. Anyone who thinks I was hard on Milk should go read some of the classic debates between Foot and I, and he lived. But anyways, I know it cane together fairly quick since everyone just wanted a basic no frills standard league just to determine who was the best of the best, not to determine who could manipulate a fancy scoring system better than the others.

I alerted Wil on this to see if he had kept our archives. .... Ah yes, the classic Treff/Foot debates mostly on some of those outlandish rankings and 'predictions' he came up with - great stuff !!!!!
In the end, history has proven he did battle with no ammo most times. ....

WW, Lefty, Fuzzy, Foot, Dub, Duff, TKO, myself, boomer sooner, Ram Tough, Scape, and Sam....I think. .

Edited..naw, Joe was in there somewhere, maybe Joe, not Ram?

Nope, I just missed out the first year. I do remember reading along in that first thread...wishing I was a part of it. Thankfully, you guys welcomed my banter and my invite the next year was quickly accepted.

:) ...now, the year? Well, we were definitely on the CBS boards in 2008...but I think 2010 sounds right....

Wasn't there a draft in there where Joe (I think it was Joe) had auto picked or something? Was it Peyton Manning? Was it Manning's injured year? Or great year? Was he a Bronco?

Nobody remembers the very first overall number one pick? Seems of something for a vault of some kind.

Hummm, actually thought it was farther back than that. Seems we were on CBS for years - - but I imagine we bantered topics and issues for a year or 2 before establishing the league - - - sound right ??
I was an original as far as I can remember back in the CBS days.
If memory serves, I think the MBBRL was created (in part) just to quiet Foot's outlandish rankings and blustering.

I don't remember that game? I'm getting too old.

I think that was the second CBS MBBRL season.
Was running very late and missed the first 12 rounds of the draft.
Manning was hurt and so his value and every Colts player was getting passed over. I ended up with 5 Colts on my team! Manning, Garcon, Dallas Clark, Reggie Wayne and even Vinatieri.
Thankfully, I think it was Scape who traded me Tom Brady and an RB for Adrian Peterson.
The only thing I can say about that year, was at least I didn't finish last despite the autodraft debacle.

Damn..back of my head kept saying there was some other obscure name who wasnt around long, but I knew you'd been around a long time so I went with that as my guess.

If I had to guess I couldn't think of anyone other than AP being that first overall pick

I did find an old CBS suicide league since I was a packrat. Hawk was in it. So was Ram.
Pretty sure Ram joined in season 2. He's the George Harrison of the MBBRL.
I did forget about Hawk. He and Boomer were pretty active posters on CBS.
Dawg always had something to say too. His posts were relatively short and to the point but he ALWAYS made up for it with an excessive amount of exclamation points!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I want to say master statistician @wilwhite facilitated the scoring system, but in a nut shell:

Very similar to our yearly rankings game - - - everyone submitted their top 5 WRs/RBs for the specific week, and you got points based off your accuracy of how close they finished that week to your rankings.

flashback: week 9, 2010 season, Seyi Arjiotutu nets 4 rec, 111 yds, 2 TD
I think Foot was the only one that had him in their top 5 that week. Of course, he also kept him in his top 5 for multiple weeks afterwards, which he produced a whopping 4 rec for 77 yds and 0 TD the rest of the season.

@wilwhite... as mokey mentioned above. Rankings game!? Are we doing it this year or not. I feel last year setting a deadline before preseason ended was a good idea

Hey all, this just hit me kinda weird today, and I feel the need to express it.

With everything going on in our country these days, I'm so thankful that I have this release. A place to come and discuss something that I'm passionate about, have reasonable disagreements, rationale debates, sometimes even heated debates, and know that at the end of the day, regardless of our color, religion, politics or anything else, we're still a close knit little community and we'll always have something that makes us all the same.

Appreciate you all.

Ditto brother - for personal reasons, I can't even watch the news anymore out of anger the way things have deteriorated in this country. It is a GREAT pleasure to have a place of solitude here with all of you guys. .....

I remember DUB won the first championship - anyone remember who won the second and third ?? I think TLance began his streak after that. ....

Might have been Scape.
Just remember DUB won then left. And Scape won then left. Hope a trend wasn't being set.

I doubt it - - I think TLance gets too much pleasure humbling the rest of us. ..... and Fuzzy is too much of a competitor to not seek a second. .....
