So.... it's NFL draft week! Does that give us a deadline for a new commish? I would nominate one of the non-baseball MBBRL'ers to take us into the new season.
The only one missing that I could possibly get excited over is Golden Tate to the Lions. I actually think he will do well opposite Calvin.
Thought T was gonna do it.....................
Yeah, that's who I thought even though I'm sure all ya'll would do awesome................T as in Tlance, I was assuming...
T as in Tlance, I was assuming...
He'd make a good Commish.
Hes make a good commish?.....................lol. I think hes make a good commish two.............take out the 'd, and add an s to make...
try again Sam
Sandwich a U between D and an H and that's how I feel now.................take the 'd off of He'd = He
add an s to make = makes
He'd make a good commish = He makes a good commish
Nice catch Lefty. I missed Tate. His ADP is currently 35, so he's being drafted before almost half the WR on the free agent list. And Jim Caldwell loves to pass. Lefty, you may be right! That said, if you have a choice of throwing to either Megatron or Showtime, wouldn't you pick Calvin most ALL of the time? Definitely something to watch.
Absolutely, No doubt - - but unless Detroit changes philosophies he'll still be targeted more as a #2 than he was as a #1 in Seattle.
Tate's best season was 2013 and he was 2 yards shy of 900. I have no doubt hat Caldwell's offense will be pass-heavy. But looking back at Caldwell's track record (below), I'm not so sure that Tate will do better than 900 yards.
2009 Colts - Reggie Wayne and Dallas Clark both had over 1000 yards.
2010 Colts - Wayne had over 1000. Next closest was Jacob Tammie and Austin Collie each with 600+.
2011 Colts - Wayne and Garcon topped out in the 900 yard range.
2013 Ravens - Torrey Smith had 1100 yards. Marlon Brown and Jacoby Jones were next with 500+ and 400+ respectively.
I'm probably presenting a lot of negatives here? Don't get me wrong, I agree Tate will be a better option as the WR2 in Detroit than some others.
good read Joe - I'll toss my 2 cents in on the Britt signing since I'm located in the STL area - he's there to push Quick, which is a competition Britt could easily win if he stays healthy and goes to sleep at night instead of going to the strip clubs.
Tavon Austin is what he is - a dynamic slot WR/return man. Based off the local radio shows, I'd be surprised to see Tavon on the field for over 50% of the offensive snaps in 2014-15. They are looking more and more to utilize him as a specialist, as opposed to your every snap WR2. Despite last season's struggles, Chris Givens should be the game day WR2, and I expect Stedman Bailey to get some turns on that side more so than Tavon. Last year, they tried to expand Givens' route tree, and you could tell he was behind the learning curve there.
I don't see the Rams using one of their 1st or 2nd round draft selections on a WR, contrary to everyone saying they will take Watkins at #2 or Evans at #13. I'm expecting 2 defensive players and 1 OL next THR, in any order. C'mon Houston - take Johnny Football, you know you want to!!!
