They could bring up Franco next month and play him at third for two solid weeks. Move 24 year old Asche to short while Franco's being tested. Nothing to lose there and 35 year old Jimmie get a rest while Franco's in. They could also juggle Howard with Franco. There's a lot they can do if they'd put their brains together.
