Really, this is genius. We ditch Homer and his God awful contract, pick up 3 guys who make us instantly worth tuning in for next year, under no contract obligations in 2020, and buys us time to groom several of our key prospects as we build towards being a contender again.


No, we arent winning the Centeal with this group, but we are going to be fun and going to be respectable. Cant wait to get tickets!

Wow. So it's a win for us getting rid of it, and it's a win for y'all because you add that 15mil cush to go after Bryce. Gray is a good prospect too, don't sleep on that aspect.

Like I said earlier, if y'all end up with Harper, then I think both teams are going to end up really happy with this deal. For us, it takes care of two positions that needed to be immediately addressed, and gets rid of the biggest contract issue we have. It gives the fans something to hold onto, and gives us time to give the new staff time to work with a couple of our guys who are on the cusp of breaking into the league a la Acuna in Atlanta this past season.

Trade rumors to dump salary...Kluber or Bauer could be gone. Makes sense it would be Kluber though bc Bauer is only 27 and still in arbitration.

Downs is supposed to be solid but we have a lot of IF talent in our farm system, so from our perspective it doesn't hurt. Gray I don't really know much about. From reading our boards he seems to be highly thought of. He's pretty young.

We tried to put him in the bullpen this season, he pulled a tantrum and got optioned to AAA Louisville instead for a rehab stint. The timing of his strain or whatever it was was awfully convenient. He basically refused to be a reliever, then "got injured", and we shipped him to Louisville. The whole thing was fishy as hell.
