These bad contracts are gonna become more and more rare.

And they suck when you're locked up with one, especially when you're not a top payroll team. We had to pay Dan Uggla for two years to play somewhere else and we had to pair BJ Upton with Craig Kimbrel just to get someone to take his contract, and thus we didn't get nearly the return we could have gotten for Kimbrel had he been traded by himself.

If they add Kluber, they have a couple of mid-level starters to use as trade pieces, along with Scooter, who apparently isn't the shoo-in we thought he was.

I listen to Mo Egger on iHeart in the afternoons on my drive home from work (who else is there in Cincy at 3pm worth listening too??? Anyone have suggestions let me know. Mo is hit or miss for me. I digress....) and I agree with his take......Bobby C promised they were going to get the pitching. There should be NO ONE who is untradeable on this roster, and that includes Joey Votto for me, if it means the price is right and we can the kind of comparable starting pitching for a long term club friendly deal in return.

That is to say, no, I'm not for sending them Hunter Greene, or Trammel, or whoever to get Kluber for a year or two at the end of his career. I am totally cool with sending someone like Scoot, who we can theoretically replace. Certainly we can defensively. Offensively....well....getting Puig makes me less antsy about that. And putting Nick Senzel at 2nd, or moving Peralta or Suarez, and sticking Senzel over ther, whatever...I can live with that.

And there isn't single pitcher save Iglesias on our roster I'm going to lose sleep over trading right now. They are all fair game.

Kemp and Puig are both FA's after next season and weren't coming back.....I like Wood but the rotation isn't a problem with Kershaw, Buehler, Hill, Ryu, and Maeda.....not to mention Stripling and Urias.....

Oh I know. And once they canned Matheny they went on a tear down the stretch. If they had started off the season like they finished, they could have easily finished atop the division. Ticks me off because I liked Goldy in Zona. Now, I have to hate him lol
