Odd. I thought JT pitched well for them.
Maybe I'm in the minority but I wanted that higher payroll with money going to the right FA's to better the team. The crap they signed was a slap in the face to the fans while other teams owners spend and want to win.For sure a higher payroll generally leads to success. The problem with Jerry/ownership is they didn’t need a $200 million dollar payroll and lash out at fans as though we are asking for it. Their core guys have been making peanuts the past 3 years. If you just look at the highest payroll guys last year, you got the 5th best starter, the worst SS in the sport, a backup catcher, a reliever who was dealt, a 3B who was DFA’d, the 26th man on the roster. I’m sure I’m missing someone but it’s just they need to spend their money wisely.
And it really calls into question Jerry’s communication skills with ownership cause he signed Castillo and Julio to those huge contracts months before ownership decided they had no money.

Without question they need to sign good free agents. But sadly the time to do that was in the offseason of 21 and 22. TMobile had a bad rap but 23 and 24 destroyed the chance of Seattle getting a legitimate free agent bat IMO.Maybe I'm in the minority but I wanted that higher payroll with money going to the right FA's to better the team. Honestly I'm not even sure he talks to the owners. They probably give him a piece of paper and pen for picture story.
