Castillo just seems like the perfect guy to trade this offseason. Not sure how much money Baltimore would eat of his deal but the M’s and Orioles match up perfectly for trade partners. They need controllable pitching and the M’s need hitters.

While I agree with the value. The Orioles have flamed out now twice cause they didn’t have pitching. Though this postseason was weird where there wasn’t really any dominant staff as it seemed like bullpens were more valuable than a number 2 starter.
Ya I think playoffs are a different animal. 2001 proved that. Regular season is a marathon while playoffs are a sprint and the sprint requires a different method. Bullpen is huge in today's playoffs. More than starting SP's I would say.

If it stays where the bullpen is more important than shouldn’t the M’s always deal from their staff? If baseball is evolving in that direction IMO only 10% of your budget should be on the starters.

Just wondering if it’s Castillo, Gilbert or Kirby. Personally I don’t want them dealing Gilbert and Kirby and Castillo were the 4th and 5th at the end of the year

Cubs go ahead .and check.out Logan.
Gilbert..
Kerby.as.well..
That's where..the mariners..value..
Is..
There not looking..to spend.a truckload..
And that's what .cubs want..

(With a fleese..attached..
No thanks..)

How's it feel..to want...

Cubs have the same attitude..
Many..midwest.teams..have..
That they.can just..get anyone..

And Seattle..fans do..as well.sometimes

But its a bit .tougher..than they think.

Phili wanting.to.dump..
Bohm..blows.my..mind..
But .hey...it seems what they want.

That said mariners best..

Gilbert..
Kerby..
Woo..
Miller..

Lolololl.

I..like to.put..garcia .
At..#5...

But if Castillo..traded.(.the only.one.
I would trade him for..is bohm.
Cuz .
Dang..Castillo is good )..

Then.
Hancock would be #5...

Yeah.im.not.so...strained at.2b..
That I can't go .with an other one year guy...
But..
From my point of view..ya need.#4.
Hitter.that..ya don't..have..

That.is more important..than..
Than.who..acuually.does .it...

At whatever position.

So.. theoretically,,you could put..
Haniger.
Or bohm..then ok...

Basically..dh..or best hitter....

But seattle.does..not have a best.
Hitter..
So that's where they are.

Well.bohm.is.not..a..strike out king..
So .he's actually .a change..

From normal .for Seattle..

Your back up .is always .
Hancock.

That's why .you can trade Castillo..
And try for sasaki .

Potentially..in.theory...
In.practice....it.would.be.much..harder

Mariners have an animic .
Offence .and even with bohm..
Still.would....be .
.
But solving..#4..is at least ....were..
To start ..

Line up...

.1.Robles .
2.....2b..
3..Julio...
Either.put..him.here..or search...
For a #3..as well .

#4..

5..Raliegh..
6...1b..or haniger .dh..
7..Rojas ..???..3b...if bohm 1b /3b

8..arosarena...lf...
9.crawford ..

Anyway..the whole bohm...or Rojas
Is the kind of problem ..

You don't mind ...
Solving..#4..is most important..
It just ..is

Ya but you need the staff to get you to the playoffs. They don't need to be as elite as in the past because of poor hitting, but you still need competitive guys that can go 6+ innings. But yes, trading Castillo would not hurt them if you can sign an innings eater to replace him along with bats to be competitive. They don't even need to be big bats. Just bats that put the damn ball in play around the field.

One reporter said to trade Gilbert because they don't see him signing long term with Seattle. If so, I would understand that move. Just make it count if you do.

There are a lot ways to fix a lineup..

Putting ..raligh..any higher..
Than.
5th..
Is not good....cuz he has a 215..
Ave..

Cuz.ya...want...get.on..base..
From leadoff..
#2..
Get a..hit .or get on base..or.move.
The leadoff ..up a base...
Somehow...

3..get a hit .or hr..either one..

#4..same as .#3...only better .

Shoot your self .in the foot...
With bad line..up...
.does not work .

Totally agree and I think we'll see this off-season whether it's FA/trade that playoff teams or teams that just missed the playoffs will load up with good pen arms and see it again by next year trade deadline.

I believe coming off his worst statistical season which to go along with what you mentioned a perfect match for the M's

Totally agree. I read an article about him and nothing on it was flattering. Lazy is right. Mediocre numbers while playing in a little league park. Hard pass.
