The Lakers need 2 things. They need Lonzo back and they need a sense of urgency.
Unfortunately, it looks like Lonzo has a bone bruise along with the sprained ankle. Bone bruise sucks. Had one of those before when I had what I thought was a very badly sprained ankle. The doctor told me that, as far as recovery, I'd almost have been better off if I had broken it (as long as it didn't require surgery). The drop off on the defensive end since Lonzo has been out is undeniable.
As for the sense of urgency, as Lebron said last night, it's hard for guys to know how to have a sense of urgency when they've never been in a playoff race and don't know what to expect.
The vets and the coaches can tell them all about it, but it's kind of something that a player has to go through. So, we get games like the one vs. the Rockets where they pull off a big win, get pleased with themselves and think they just need to mail it in vs. a team like the Pels. Especially when they know that their best player is sitting out.
Damn Kids.
