Well, as is usually the case with trades of aging stars in Pro Sports, the scenarios are changing daily for moving Kupp. The latest is that the chances are really improving for the Rams moving Kupp to either the Stillers or the Jaguars. The Stillers are interested they want the rams to pay the Kupp Roster Bonus and they are only offering a 5th Rounder.

Liam Coen, the new HC for the Jaguars has been talking with the Rams to obtain his new GM from the Rams. He now wants to get Kupp to help his megamillions QB, Lawrence get to the next level of eliteness. The Rams still want at least a 3rd or 4th rounder for Kupp and with Coen at the helm, they just may get it.

If the Rams go elsewhere (Like the Stillers), the consensus is they won't get a Draft Pick any where near a 3rd or 4th but closer to a 5th through 7th Rounder. There is also a growing contingency of thought that the Rams would bring Kupp back if he re-worked his present deal to settle for less money even though he has two years left on his presnt deal.

Stay tuned on this one as we shall all see what happens in the next few weeks. BTW, the Rams have to get this done before March 1 or they will owe Kupp a $7.5 million Roster bonus.

The way the Rams are treating Cooper Kupp is similar to what they did to E. Jones. They didn't even ask Kupp to re-structure is present deal. They just said we are trading you immediately and then basically shut-the-door. Geez.

Rams aren’t going to get anything of value for Kupp with his injury history and inflated contract.

Reminds me of the Holt scenario when they turned down a 1st rounder for him and then traded him the next season for next to nothing.

so im guessing the linebacker class isn't that great this year? all i see on this thread are offensive guys from the draft.

Most of the discussion has been about the 1st round. Not many LBs go first round these days unless they're 3-4 edge rushers.

I haven't read much about the draft yet, but that will start in earnest soon with the SB this weekend, NBA trade deadline passed, etc.

I consider $12M cap savings as strong value heading into FA.

Kupp gone? reminds me of when London Fletcher was traded. He was so important for the defense that the Rams defense didn't recover for years. This will be the same for the offense. Worst move since McVay took over the team.

London Fletcher was traded after his age 26 season. Kupp is going to be 32. I'm actually surprised he has much of a trade market with that salary. Love the guy, but he's closing in on the end of his star run.

It would be a major success to get a day 2 pick for Kupp. This is looking like a day 3 pick swap to me.

Well, the speculation is ramping-up and the latest is rather intriguing. There are many reports (doesn't make it fact) that the Stillers are not going to bring back Russell Wilson. This has led to the massive speculation that the Rams are willing to send Stafford and Kupp to the Stillers for Justin Fields, a Number One, a Number Two, and a Number Five draft choices.

Many peeps are fueling this speculation with the report that the restructuring of Stafford's contract has become contentious and the Rams want no part of it. In kind, Kelly Stafford has been dropping hints on her podcast that she would welcome the adventure of going to a new team.

Personally, I like that Pissburgh scenario. They move Kupp AND Stafford, Rams save a boatload of cash, they get a young trainable QB, and they get a decent haul in Draft choices that would give them what they need to get the blue-chip players that would fill-in the holes they have team-wide.

Stay tuned on this one.

Rumors are Kupp could be going to the Bears and Stafford to the Steelers. Go ahead Rams blow up your team.
Jimmy G will be the starter next season. I guess you just can't fix stupid.

Looks like that may be the case, Rambunctious. Pron boy (Jimmy G) is looking like he will be the next Rams QB for the 2025-206 seasons if all things go as they are being planned.

The question remains: Are the Rams going to be fairly compensated for both Kupp and Stafford from the respective teams? Or are we going to yield both players for next to nothing? Are we going to get a couple of First Rounders, A second rounder, and a Fifth rounder for both of these players?

This whole Kupp-Stafford trades thing is about aging players costing the Rams way too much at this point in their careeers. If Stafford stays, he will account for nearly $50 million in cap space alone.

In light of getting more players to continue to rebuild, the Rams have decided to send them both out the door (if possible) to continue on with the overall pursuit of another Snooperbowl win.

Most of this will have to be done in the next serval weeks before March 1 when Roster bonuses are due.

We shall see how this plays out.

Trading Stafford will be a big mistake... There is not a better alternative for the next two seasons. No one to draft either, many analysts are calling this a bum draft for QBs. FFS.

Maybe Snead can talk duval boy into giving us a 2nd or 3rd rounder for Kupp & paying his entire remaining of the contract. That help us out a lot.

Big mistake trading Stafford. No better option for the next few seasons. Extend Stafford 4 for years, that gets him to age 40 season. Plus, we get some breathing room to find a replacement.

Actually, Unreal. There are a couple of QBs in the Draft that the Rams should really consider. See Post #91 for a list. They may need a Second Rounder to get the one QB they really should select. He is a spitin' image of Stafford and obviously far younger. Same size, same strong arm and very precise. That would be Kyle McCord of Syracuse.

With all of the scuttlebutt about the Rams trading Stafford, the trend is now leaning to a return of Stafford to the Rams with a restructured contract in 2025. The following article is the formulating back-up list.

Whitworth sat for an interview in New Orleans today and said it shouldn't be hard to write up a deal with Stafford for another year or two. Kupp's deal was too hard to get a workable deal not the case with Matt. He sounded as if he thinks Stafford will stay in a Rams Uniform for two years and retire as a Ram. That would give the Rams time to find the right replacement. I hope he is right.
