So, what is everyone's thoughts on the trades now?

I still don't like them at all. Bullock has been hit and miss which is not good considering getting is playing significant minutes over another 3&D guy ( Hart ).

And Muscala has don't basically nothing.

Meanwhile, Zu is doing his usual thing with the other LA team.

I think the Lakers actually got worse in those trades, not better.

What a great day. Lakers won, now Harper!!

Maaaan, that's alotta years though.

I'm not a Harper fan and wasn't all that excited about the idea of the Dodgers paying him $45 million a year. I'd rather they use that kind of money to go after Mike Trout or Mookie Betts in a couple of years when they become FA's.

I will say though, he actually took less money annually than the original offer from the Phillies and than the Padres gave Machado.

Sacrificing money annually for more years would seem to indicate that he is all in as a Phillie and doesn't want to be an FA again.

I'm fine with them.

I like Zu, but he is a very good backup center/spot starter. 10 years ago, he would be a good to very good starting center. But in today's league, he's not.

Bullock and Muscala bring perimeter shooting which the Lakers need. Bullock has been fine and Muscala has been hurt. He looked pretty good last night.

Also, both are FA's after this season, so if they don't perform, the Lakers can let them walk and have a little more cap space to go big game hunting in the off-season.

Also, Hart has a knee issue and hasn't been playing well.

The age of the loyal athlete and the focus on winning is rapidly dissipating if not totally gone and the new age of megalomaniacal a-holes is upon us. I was thinking in light of the first story posted below (if true) that we should trade James for AD straight-up or James and say Bullock and Muscala for AD and Randle until I saw the second story posted below. If True, AD is just as bad as James in the megalomaniac department. I am not sure Magic can win at this new game because he is looking for the selfless, winning-minded superstar like himself and they, possibly, don't exist anymore.

Yeah, I read that the Phillies sold something like 100,000 tickets in a very short time after the announcement was made.

Trout's going to be interesting. He's from the East, so he may very well want to return.

On the other hand, SoCal has some great weather and if he doesn't feel that he can win with the Angels... he can go to a team that has won it's division 6 straight years and been in back to back World Series, without having to move out of his house.

If your team is going to win titles, then you have to have a couple of superstars. With exceedingly few exceptions (maybe Steph and Klay) this is what you deal with.

The other choice is to be the Pacers or Jazz. Lots of selfless players with their ego's in check...

and lots of 1st and 2nd round playoff exits.

We have lost to Orlando twice, NY, Cleveland, Atlanta, NO, Memphis. That's six to seven wins we should easily have now. Those are the ones that will come back to haunt us.

IDK trojanfan12. It is a perplexing conundrum going on right now in Lakerland but if James manages to alienate is younger superstars to the point of an outright mutiny, Magic may have no choice but to move him... ...maybe.

Rewatched game. Luke and his stupid substitutions in the fourth. He has no clue how to manage a close game.

I am glad the hottest owner on the planet cleared that issue up. Woof!

Jeanie Buss calls Lakers reported offer for Davis 'fake news'
She can say what she wants now, but the fact is..it was reported in the media. They should have come out and said they were not trading for Davis, when Davis said he wanted to be traded. That would have been better for all. Magic fucked up. Everyone knew they were not going to trade Davis to the Lakers period. I would have came out early and said we like our young players. Then Magic made it worse by telling the players so what if you were going to be traded. Just an extremely bad rookie mistake by Magic. Other then James and gettng Kuzma, he is failing IMO.

That was my attempt at satire Tomodach. Many of things you state, I tend to agree with for now. That was a bad couple of weeks for Magic for sure.
