So Miles Garrett wants out of CLE, and I'm 100% with Mike Salk on his take that we should be aggressive in going after him.

This year's 1st (18)+ next year's 1st + one of Mafe / Hall. Then trade DK for a 1st to replenish that pick.

Finding a top tier young QB is looking next to impossible right now, so next best thing is to bring in the most dominant pass rusher in the game and make the D a powerhouse. Garrett is in his prime and is an absolute game changer. Adding him likely makes next year's 1st Rd pick 22+ anyway, so that makes it sting less.

Draft guys are saying quality interior D linemen will be available in day 2 picks this year anyway, so we can still address the biggest need regardless.

I get why you could think this but he is 29 and we are not ready to contend even with this guy. Thats a lot of pieces to give up and they really need all those picks for the pieces it would give them. Not going to get a 1st for DK. Maybe Trade DK to Cleveland for Garrett. lol

100% not for giving up two firsts for Garrett, another bandaid move selling out the future under the delusion we are one player away when we arent

If Adams would like to come in for a short term/low contract deal, sure. We don't really have a bunch of younger WRs he'd take reps from. That's fine.

That said, this draft is not bad in terms of mid round talent. You're likely not going to find an elite #1 WR (which DK isn't anyway) but there's some good stuff there as your #2/#3. Fortunately JSN has shown he can be a #1. So sure, bring Adams in if he costs cheap. I think he'll be mailing it in though, but who knows. I do think the players in the league respect Geno which actually says quite a bit for how hard you're going to get guys to play for you. If Adams actually cares, he could help this org.

I think DK is done with Seattle. I really don't know how to say it, but he just seemed to be mailing it in a little bit this last year.

It's a interesting idea, but like some have said, don't feel the team is one player away from being Superbowl contenders, even a Miles Garrett type. Can the Seahawks get a first for Metcalf? Maybe, mostly because this draft isn't loaded at WR like last year, but be tough to find a trade partner willing to give a first and it would create another hole on the offensive side of the team. If the Seahawks make a big move this off season I'd rather they do something like sign OL Trey Smith.

The first rounder would be late but could look into Baltimore, Buffalo, Houston or Commanders.

Pass. I could see him pouting when Geno struggles.

After watching these playoffs and super bowl though, and considering the state of the NFC, I disagree that we aren't 1 Miles Garrett away from competing.

You don't have to be the perfect team at all positions to win a super bowl. But if you make a unit (d line) elite, you certainly can win a lot of games, especially late in the season.

As I said, you aren't sacrificing improving needs with this move, since interior linemen can still be had while accomplishing this one. And I don't think I'm the only one thinking DK has peaked, though I'm a fan of his.

If you think you can win it all with Geno, get the o line to league average+ and make the defense something to be feared. 4 years of Miles Garrett gives you that shot. Otherwise you think we're upgrading at QB substantially in those 4 years? I don't.

With jalen hurts winning a SB I can easily see Schneider justifying the thinking that they can win one with geno and pulling some stupid bullshit like selling out the future for Garrett
When it fails, it will set the team back years just like the Adams trade did.

right now we got to build for the "Future" Garrett isn't building " For the future". This feels 100% like a TR move, a Band-aid for a chance to grasp at something more than "Just making" the playoffs. These moves fail more than they ever work. 2 years from now when this team is ready to trully compete where is Garrett other than taking away picks that could still be studs on the time and on cheep contracts? He would be a 30+ aging player on the decline costing you a ton of money.

TR move.

if schneider suspects his job is on the line, he has nothing to lose and it makes perfects sense to do something dumb like this.

Well hopefully the Seahawks learned something yesterday. Get a fuckin' offensive and defensive line... Jalen Hurts is not an amazing QB (yah he won SBOWL MVP, whatever, basically the QB that wins does), but the Eagles DL was dominant. They didn't blitz a single time (no surprise, bottom 5 blitzing team) and the Eagles OL gave Hurts enough time to make plays.

Again, it's why I was pissed off we took Witherspoon over Carter. Build the trenches and everything else comes together. Look at the 90s Cowboys. I'm sorry but Aikman was an average QB. But the Dallas OL was elite and the DL was pretty damn good too.

If we take anything but OL or DL in the NFL draft I'll be annoyed. As for Myles Garrett? If the Browns let him go for a 1st rounder, I'm fine with it. Put him, Williams, Reed, and Murphy on the front and you are an immediate playoff contender.

Word on the street is Genoa smith contract extension is in the works

That's fine to me. I really don't get the Geno hate with how horrid our defense was to start the season (Mac did turn it around before laying an egg in LA) and the horrible offensive line we had. Extend Geno, I'm fine pushing that cap into future years, and go secure your OL and DL.. Look, I liked the K9 and Charb pick (prob. because I predicted it) but OL and DL is what's going to win you games.

Draft OL and DL. At least Murphy was a step in the right direction, although we're using him as a glorified undersized nose tackle.

That's the other thing that drives me nuts. Seattle keeps drafting guys that can 'do multiple things' or 'play multiple positions' but then they suck at them or are UNDERSIZED (Phillys line averages liked 350 lbs per guy) so we can't play them? WHY THE FUCK did we draft Christian Haynes? "Well the coaching staff has concerns about his size." SO WHY THE FUCK DID YOU DRAFT HIM? Were you out of time?

Whatever. It's a tried and true formula... build the trenches. Seattle under Schneider somehow doesn't seem to fuckin' get it. Trade a center for Jimmy Graham and then have him block, lol.

I'd be shocked if he's not extended here shortly... MM seems to have all the confidence in the world with Geno...
The first came in a FOX 13 TV interview with Seahawks head coach Mike Macdonald. When asked whether he expects Smith to be his starting quarterback in 2025, Macdonald didn’t hesitate.

“Heck yeah, man,” Macdonald said. “Geno’s our quarterback. I don’t understand the conversation. It’s pretty obvious this guy’s a heck of a quarterback. He’s our quarterback. We love him. Can’t wait to go to work with him.

“We’ve had a lot of non-football conversations – to keep it legal – over the last month or so, and I know he’s really excited about (new offensive coordinator) Klint (Kubiak) taking over. This guy, he’s a great player, man. And we can win a championship with Geno Smith. We really believe that, and I can’t wait to get back to work with him.”
