Ranked #2 in the ESPN SOR ranking. #9 in the RPI.

Oregon meanwhile can't beat a team on a 5 game losing streak who only scored 29 points in their previous game, lol.

UMn wresting reached 1000 wins, only the 4th or 5th school EVER to reach that milestone.

Blake Wheeler played in his 1000th NHL game, the 4th former Gopher to reach that milestone.

Gophers one of SIX B1G teams to make the Sweet 16 of the women's VB NCAA tourney. Oregon, btw, lost in the 1st round, lol. Cuz they suck.

Gopher Women's Hockey got 5 of 6 points this weekend from #1 ranked Wisconsin.

yet not a single vote to be ranked. Um has never even been to a final four.
ESPN SOR = #2
RPI Ranking = #9. And yes, I'll be the first to declare the RPI as probably the worst rating system out there.
Massey Rnkng = #35
Net Ranking = #36. First "official" NET ranking, according to NCAA.com

Andy Katz has them listed as a team under consideration for his Power 36 ranking.
Sagarin = #49

They are getting votes now, both the Coaches and the AP giving them votes. The NET rankings have them among their Top 36 as well. The RPI still has them ranked among their Top 15. Massey Rankings has them ranked #30, they are #11 in ESPN's SOR rating. Sagarin is probably their worst ranking at #43.

Oregon can't even claim a Top 50 in ANY ranking/rating, much less a #43 ranking being their worst. lol

Freddie a small piece of advice, don’t go around telling folks you attended 6 different colleges and only have a bachelors degree to show for it. Ether leave out the amount of colleges or lie and say you have 5 degrees so it doesn’t look so fucking pathetic. I know you’ll say you don’t care but with the amount of stupid shit you have riled off in 70 plus pages, it gives people a ton of ammo to call you a blithering jackass.

Was just being honest. Surprised you advocate me lying instead because you think the lie will be more believable or impressive? That's not how I roll Ralphie, never will stoop to the Leftist tactic of lying about things because they feel the ends justify the means.

And I only post truths, it's your issue if you think those truths are stupid or not. And your opinion doesn't change the facts.

Simple fact is, Minnesota as a state and UMn as an institution of higher learning, have always been leaders in some way, shape or form, not always forever as things change, the people in charge come and go, they have different priorities or ideas of how to do things, etc.. So UMn was a leader in college football until the leadership soured on football and almost cut it off completely, until the Natl Title in 1960 ruined those plans, but it was only enough to keep the program in existence, didn't change their not supporting it like other schools did. WW2 did a number on UMn's role as the national leader in college football, but at the same time UMn became a leader in the war effort, in many ways. Before that UMn led other things like men's and women's bb and men's and women's hockey, and after WW2 things like baseball, civil rights, etc..

And now UMn is a leader among public universities in the academics/athletics combo, UMn and Bama, and in other things like Women's Hockey(1/3rd of the 2022 US Women's Hockey team are current or former Gophers), Competitive Dance(19 Natty's in the 21st Century, so far), and the whole Nobel Laurette Production thing. As a state, Minnesota has always been a leader in some way or form, in producing athletic talent(per capita of course), or musical talent, or actors and actresses. As a state we've pretty regularly ranked Top 5 in education and best places to live, low crime, most golfers, etc..

Prince, Bob Dylan, Andrew Sisters, The Time/Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis, The Replacements, Husker Du, Yanni?

Charles Schultz, Sinclair Lewis, F Scott Fitzgerald, Henry Fonda, Judy Garland, Coen Brothers, Terry Gilliam, Poul Anderson

These are all giants of popular culture, if not in general, then of their particular niche. And those are all just off the top of my head.

A list of sort of one hit wonders would be impressive as well, from Funky Town, Closing Time, Fireflies, and heck, even Chocolate Rain in it's own way. Paulette Carlson put out an album with Highway 101 with something like Four #1 hits on it.

So the National Team won the Senior Bowl and a Gopher, Boye Mafe, was named the National Team Player of the Game?! Interesting. 3 tackles for a loss, 2 sacks AND 1 forced fumble?!

And Winfield made the Pro Bowl roster and Campbell made All-Pro. Interesting.

There are 10 future, current and former Gophers competing in women's hockey, 8 for Team USA. 1 for Team Finland and 1 for Team Sweden. A Gopher scored the first goal for the US Women's team this olympics, and helped on the 1st goal in yesterday's game, too.

Natl Champion Diver, again. Natl Champion Heavyweight Wrestler, again. TWO 1st team all-americans in the All-Around in Gymnastics, both could win the title.

NCAA hockey? Just 5 eastern teams competing, 4 eliminated so far. Just 3 B1G teams competing, all 3 advance. 4 Minnesota based teams competing, 3 advanced so far, 4th in an tie game with that last eastern team standing 3-3 going into the 3rd period.

UMn #1 in NCAA tourney appearances in Men's Hockey. UMn still #1 in NCAA tourney wins in Men's Hockey.

UMn's got 18 former alums ranked among the Top 600 in scoring in the NHL. Not sure if any other school can claim 18 former alum in the NHL, much less their having that many among the Top 600 in scoring.

And UMn added 9 more Olympic Medal winners recently, too.
