So I would have had to hit a superfecta with Stigma boxed in.

Prolly would have paid good in the real world at 18-1 being wheeled in.

11/1 on top
7/1
4/5
18/1

The 4/5 favorite was a royally bred first time starter. He inflated the odds on the rest of the field. 6/1 was the 2nd choice. The exacta paid $220.10. The tri, $389.10. Super payoffs aren't listed.

I hate the Cowboys. Maybe Suh will step on Romos throat or something like that:lol:. If the Lions lose I hope they at least bust the Cowboys up some

Fuck yeah BUD! I hate the Cowboys more than any other team in the NFL. Fuck their cocky "America's Team" bullshit. I don't recall voting on that, any of you guys vote for them on that one? Didn't think so.

It's the stupid fucking media doing that shit. For as much as I love the NFL, sportsmedia, as a whole, is comparatively a lot closer to tabloids than they are to real newspapers. Sensationalism and Yellow Journalism are very much alive and well in sports media. Profootball talk is the absolute worst for it. I frequent their site because they cover everything NFL and do it fast, so they're a great news source, but Mike Florio and Michael David Smith simply cannot write anything without throwing in heavy doses of their opinions, which tend to be very inflammatory. That's not reporting, it's fiction presented as news.

Does anyone know of any really good sites strictly for NFL news, without all the fluff pieces?

Absolutely. The Lions board on Sportshoopla. Although occasionally, there is a fluff piece by TP or Yao, they don't dominate the board.

In his first five races (all sprints, including one uninspiring effort on dirt), Lions Stigma had four 4ths and one 5th. On July 18th I finally gave him what he wanted, running him in his first route at a mile. He went wire to wire, beating the 1-5 odds-on favorite by 2 1/4 lengths.

so the stretch-out worked. any 7 Furlongs in previous races ?

nothing better than a turf course, imo.

He went 7 1/2 two back (last race was his dirt try). Showed improvement, but nothing to write home about. Winning that easily, I still don't know his ceiling (covered the mile in 1:37.46), but I'll find out when he faces allowance company.

The Turf horses is what I prefer from the betting of races.

I've been to many a Breeder's Cup. couldn't begin to tell you how many times Pincay, Delehousay, Stevens, Bailey, McCarron screwed my bets coming down the stretch.

Yep, you sound like my dad. I think he may have went into a small depression when they shutdown his OTB site by his house for a while. Prolly longest two months of his life.

I grew up a Rosecroft kid. Like harness racing better. More successful at it.

MSW, $45,000 purse. 3YO. 1:37 2/5 wouldn't cut it in allowance company. His dam-sire is T. M. Opera O. His next race will be on Wednesday August 19th in a NW2L Allowance at 8.5 on the turf. $43,800 purse.

1/4 in 22.93 (led by 3/4), 1/2 in 46.76 (led by 2 1/4), 3/4 in 1:11.82 (led by 3 1/4), can't break down the last 1/8.

Sorry BigBlue. You asked about the history of his damsire, not who it was. Not stated here, but he ran on turf.

T M Opera O (Japanese : テイエムオペラオー, March 13, 1996 - ) was a Japanese thoroughbred racehorse, sired by Opera House, a son of Sadler's Wells, out of Once Wed, a daughter of Blushing Groom. T.M. Opera O was inducted into the Japan Racing Association Hall of Fame in 2004.

T.M. Opera O was the world's all-time leading money-earner. He won 1,835,189,000yen($14,100,000, $1 = 130yen) during his career.

I don't know if the PPs link works, but if it does, it gives you all the past performances of the horses for those of you that want to take a shot at handicapping the race.

Show me what you got.

I clicked on that link but it only worked if you were a subscriber.

So, what was the verdict on Lions Stigma race then and any other races afterwards.

I've been wanting to know for some time

Sorry. I thought everyone had no interest.

8/19 he ran a personal best 85 speed figure (83 in his win) which was good enough for 6th, 8 1/4 lengths back.
9/24 I cut him back to a mile, allowance NW2L, field of 14. 22-1 again. Finished 12th, 12 lengths back.

Allowance company is brutal. I'll probably try 10 and 12 furlongs. If no improvement, will probably start running in claimers. Might try dirt again at some point.

I actually named a horse after one of our posters. But he ran so bad I sent him right back to the farm. Might break him out again in December.
