Does this signing help in the least little bit even though it's not on the side of the ball you were hoping for.
It should help Goff.

Monty is a better receiving option than Williams. And is harder to tackle.

If they don’t bring Chark back they’re going to need to address receiver early. Or make a trade.

I would’ve been fine with Jamaal back for similar money fwiw

Oh, hell nah, that's not a Lions RB we've seen in the last 25 years not missing numerous games per season.

I love the signing. If there is one thing the Bears know on offense, it's running back.

They've got another one pretending to be a quarterback.

Is he good at pass-pro? Receiving out of the backfield?
I really haven't paid attention to the Bears even when we play them as far as memory recall is concerned.
I don’t know what he’s like in pass pro. Fields takes forever to throw the ball. Can’t say if Monty had any impact there.

But he’s been third on the Bears in receptions each of the last three seasons.

Absolutely because they had a QB that was probably top 15 in rushing this year and that was with a shitty O-Line.

If the Bears fix their O-Line which they partially did by signing McGlinchey then they could make some waves

Sweet. Now, if only Swift could stay healthy for an entire 17 games. When Swift is 100% healthy, he's one of the most dangerous RB in all of the NFL but mostly as an outside zone runner or as a receiving option.

Fields was 7th. Highest y/a in the league.

23 for 279 and 2 TDs against us. 137 for 864 and 6TDs the rest of the season.

I’d like to think Duce will have a lasting impact on Swift even though he’s gone.

He worked and worked on him not just jumping to the outside.

Could be one of those things where a coach takes a guy out of their comfort zone and the payoff takes patience.

Or he’ll have a half dozen soft tissue boo boos and run out of bounds on most of his touches.

If only BH would've signed an ILB that has the instincts to read and react and complete a tackle by an RPO QB then the Lions would've had a better chance this past season and in the future.

I'm more onboard with the Titanic leaning it'll be the above.

It's almost like Kerryon Johnson revisited but KJ never had that kind of talent that Swift can display.

Signing an ILB would’ve been a start at not being awful against the run.

Right now we’re a year older and just as bad.

Montgomery has fumbled 6 times on 1,070 touches. Or once every 178 touches.

Hell, if the Lions drafted Bijan and an RG then that should complete the offense for this year. I still think they could make do if Chark isn't back, but Chark surely could open up the possibilities for all receivers being in a Lions uniform. It would be improbable to cover Chark, Jamo, AR-SB and throw in Swift or Kalif all in the same line-up on various plays.

I do like Jaxon Smith-Njigba out of this class of WR and not much else.

I’m not going to miss the TD dance that draws flags.

Or the goal line fumble that lost a game and kept us out of the playoffs.

I wish more players were like numba 20 after scoring a TD, but I'm old as shit and completely old-school.

Jamaal was better than that on a ratio context. Until he became a LION.

Bijan is a good receiver too. As well as being good in pass pro. We could trade Swift. Let him get hurt for someone else.
