I still believe Hockenson will be an awesome player. It is a terrible pick because top 10 on a TE is insane, but at least the player will be good. I was really hoping for Oliver. Still think that was the pick to make.

100% agree.

Still waiting for him to draft a pro bowler.

I've never been able to comprehend a fans perspective that player x isn't/hasn't become a pro bowl player so that player(s) skillset isn't worthy.

Pro Bowl selection is nothing more than a popularity contest, imo. Slay sure as hell wasn't deserving this past year and yet in 2017 he most certainly was deserving and wasn't selected.

when is Tua ever healthy? Between his ankles and hips he is almost always compromised.

Hip injury was rare. It could've happened to Stafford or any other qb.

The ankle surgeries were merely to provide stability for the future. That tightrope procedure has been successful to other players on bama squad. Former Bama LT Cam Robinson had it and so did a RB (can't recall his name off-hand). The first tightrope came after the SEC CG in 2018 (which hindered his play in the CFB NCG that year) and then the Oct 2019.

Tua Tagovailoa's 'tightrope' procedure: What is it, normal timetable for recovery

Why opt for a TightRope procedure?
In a 2017 interview with Arthrex, Norman Waldrop — one of Alabama's team surgeons last year — said the TightRope surgery allows a medical staff to avoid any complications with screws.

"Sometimes screws can be an issue," Waldrop said in the interview with Arthrex. "If you're using screws, it can overconstrain the joint, the screws can break. With the TightRope you don't have to worry about any of that."

Waldrop also mentioned the procedure helped him get athletes back in action "quicker."

Id like to see him traded personally. While the stock is high.

This.

Draft USC WR Pittman this year.

You might as well churn the roster for WR and RB instead of handing out huge payouts/contracts that'll cost so much they'll hurt the team down the road. jmo.

One caveat would be if your team has a legitimate chance at making a run through the playoffs for 2-3 years. No worries here as this teams roster is nowhere near that.

BQ on the NFL Network saying please call us for our 1st round pick. He is waiting by the phone. I dont see how a team needing a QB can sit and wait.

I'm sticking with my prediction that it's the Chargers who move up to #3 overall and not Miami.

BTW, Phins owner Steven Ross was in attendance twice at Bama in 2019 sitting in one of the luxury boxes and this was before Tua went down in that game against Mississippi.

I think the Skins are nuts to handicap their future wallet by taking 4 linemen in 5 years AND passing on Tua to roll w Haskins. But it’s Dan Snyder.

Not sure as to why you'd think Washington drafting Young would be a bad idea.

Rivera runs a 4-3 base and not the 3-4 that Washington played under Gruden

Former Bama DL and now current Skins DL Payne and Williams are more than suitable to play inside as 3, 1, 0 techs

Ryan Kerrigan is 31 years old and on his last year of contract at a cost of 11.687M and none of that is a dead cap hit.

They drafted former Miss St Edge Montez Sweat last year and drafting Young solidifies their edge rushers for the next 4 years (as a combo - Sweat and Young)

Mock draft is over. Overall I am happy with this draft. James Lynch will be like Hand, but hopefully healthy? Would have loved a trade down from 3, but nothing was on the table.

3. Detroit : Jeff Okudah - CB - Ohio St.
35. Detroit : Cesar Ruiz - C - Michigan
67. Detroit : Jordan Elliott - DT - Missouri
70. Detroit : Kyle Dugger - S - Lenoir-Rhyne
149. Detroit : James Lynch - DE - Baylor
182. Detroit : Joe Reed - WR - Virginia
235. Detroit : Jashon Cornell - DT - Ohio St.

pretty damn good

Pretty good but no LBs. I think we might need a Punter too.

I wouldn't hold out for hope in drafting an off the ball LB this year.

Jack LB I can see BQ drafting.

I am cool with whichever one wants to. Miami would probably give us more this year. SD would have to dip into next year most likely.

I heard somewhere that some scout said the media has never been more wrong about the first round

The media as a whole is pretty much wrong on their predictions for the 1st round and especially once you get beyond pick 8.

Every damn year the media throws around names of players who they state will be or considered 1st round picks.

The only reason I give as to why I think LAC make the trade up is the owners need to sell tickets for the shithole they play in currently and their defense is pretty damn well set. Tua will sell more tickets than Herbert, imo, plus, even with Tua's injury he forecasts as the better QB of the two to win in the short-term.

I could see the LAC giving up this years #6, #37 overall and maybe next years 2nd round pick (possibly 1st round but highly doubtful)

There's been a couple articles out from the Detroit area sports writer's thinking that BQ might lean toward the so-called safer pick in DT Derrick Brown over CB Okudah. Their reasoning was that Brown would provide more of an immediate return/impact (rush defense, pass rush ability, seal, contain) versus expecting Okudah to immediately be able to provide coverage against NFL WR for 6 seconds.

2020 NFL Draft rumors: Lions really like Derrick Brown

So keep that in mind when it comes to the latest rumor surrounding the Detroit Lions and their first-round pick. According to MMQB’s Albert Breer, the Lions have a draft-crush on Auburn defensive tackle Derrick Brown.

“I’ve heard rumblings that the coaching staff has taken a real liking to Auburn DT Derrick Brown,” Breer wrote in his Monday column. “I’m sticking with Okudah here, for now. But I think Brown is very much a possibility.”

2020 NFL Draft rumors: Lions really like Derrick Brown

However, PFF’s Brett Whitefield joined our PODcast this week and rejected that notion about Brown and Kinlaw.

“When you look at defensive tackle prospects, (Brown) is elite as they come,” Whitefield said. “Everyone wants to compare him to Kinlaw and make the claim that Kinlaw is automatically going to be this better pass rusher—and there’s a case to be made that Kinlaw has better physical traits—but when you look at the data, look at the numbers, Derrick Brown has been every bit as good as a pass rusher as Kinlaw has in college. Whether that’s their PFF pass rush grade, which is literally identical over the last two years, or their win rate, which is both over 17 percent. Pressure rate is neck-and-neck. Brown has more pressure than Kinlaw does, he has more sacks and hits, he’s got more batted passes. He’s out produced Kinlaw in just about every way as a pass rusher over the past two years.”

I could see BQ drafting Brown over Okudah. It's his MO.

not that I would agree with that decision but surely wouldn't be upset with that choice.

10 things Lions fans need to brace for in the 2020 NFL Draft

Lions draft DT McTelvin Agim in the third round
Every year, Quinn surprises Lions fans with a pick on Day 2 that they know little about — Kenny Golladay, Tracy Walker, and Jahlani Tavai are prime examples. This year, if you don’t want to be surprised, the name to know is Arkansas’ defensive tackle McTelvin Agim. An intelligent 2-gapper, Agim has four years starting experience at defensive end and tackle, was a captain in 2019, checks every athletic box the Lions are looking for, can pass rush, set the edge, and is an excellent run stuffer.

BB_72: I like this player as a possibility to be drafted but not in the 3rd round. Drafting Agim in the 3rd round would be equivalent to drafting Tavai in the 2nd round last year. imo.
