KD and Russ are both straight up superstars and and team would love to have either. Just a fact.

Not if you already have a superstar PG. Not that hard to see without Thunder-colored glasses on.

Besides, who would want a cupcake with no heart like Durant?

Make no mistake about it, Durant is a cupcake and everyone knows it. Problem is in this day and time it's just not a big deal. So be it, but his title won't mean much as much as the Warriors that won one without him. Just the way it is.

Not necessarily true. I think every team in the NBA would love to have KD, but not every team would love to have Westbrook.

The difference is that KD is much more willing to share the ball than Westbrook. KD fits perfectly into what the Warriors do. Westbrook wouldn't.

That's not a criticism and it doesn't mean Westbrook isn't a great player, it just means that he wouldn't fit on every team like KD.

A team that moves the ball the way the Warriors do, doesn't need or want a ballstopper. Guys like Kyrie, Melo, Kobe when he was playing, also wouldn't fit with what the Warriors do.

The Spurs also come to mind as a team that wouldn't want a guy like Westbrook.

I will wrap his ass up in a bow and deliver him to the practice facility personally.

So, you're rooting for a complete rebuild in Clipperland? Are you including the coach?

I would like to keep Chris.

But, not at a full 5 years that it would take.

Blake can go.

JJ is insane and will go.

I can't name a guy who had a worst postseason than Redick.

Doc should be fired.

So, yeah.....blow it up.

But, they won't. If they keep Blake, he should get dealt by the deadline....

However, I read that the CP3 to Spurs rumors persist because Paul wants a no trade clause and Doc is hedging.

If he has to give Blake one to keep him, let his ass walk.

IF Im the Clippers, keep Paul, Reddick, and DeAndre and let Griffin walk. Go after Carmelo Anthony. They ain't getting any younger.

Dude, you can't give JJ 20 mil per.

Let his ass walk.

OR, see if the Knicks are still dumb enough to still want Rivers.

Package Rivers, Redick, Brice Johnson and a keg of beer for Melo.

Redick could work in the Triangle.

Clippers should resign CP3 and Blake, let DAJ and JJ walk.

DAJ, imo is an overrated defender and subpar offensive player. For the amount you'll have to pay him, you can find much more viable options to produce what he does. You could actually probably get Javale McGee for a fraction of the cost and do a lot of similar things.

JJ is not near worth 20M especially considering his age. The Clips could offer Korver a contract well below what JJ will command and they can do many of the same things. JJ's a better defender, but if you'd have to pay JJ 20M vs maybe 8M for Korver, it's a no-brainer.

I agree pretty much across the board. I've been a CP3 fan since his college days, but that big end of career contract could be tough to work around in a few years. I would offer him a reasonable, shorter deal with his no-trade clause. If he leaves, then look maybe at dealing Blake to the Celtics for a similar package that I was suggesting for Love (PG and Crowder?). Maybe look to sign Meeks to replace Redick. Cheaper for a slight downtick in production.

I'd rather see new faces that the same stagnant "stars" that aren't getting it done. Time to shake it up a bit.

Yeah, on paper, the Clips should be a pretty serious contender to at least make the WCF, if not the finals. But there is something about that team that just doesn't work like it should on the court. It's at the point where they have to realize that bringing everybody back and hoping they can "get it done this time" isn't working.

The Clippers are a prime example, imo, of why "coach as GM" rarely works. Doc is a good guy who loves and believes in his players. In short...he's emotionally invested in each and every one of them. I think it's just too hard for him to do what heeds to be done.

He needs to either blow it all up and rebuild or move at least 1 of his core players for a package of players that fit together a little better. Or that can at least stay healthy. I just don't think he can bring himself to do it.

@tlance showing his typical hatred for Westbrook here. Not shocking. Obviously your perspective on Roberson is a bit different than mine. I just don't see how anyone could view him as a top 5% NBA athlete. Because I see him as a plodder than looks out of position at the 2. Maybe my flaw is that I'm comparing him to the younger version of Thabo Sefolosha, who has always been an adequate assist man for a defensive specialist.

Victor Oladipo is still just 24 and I still could see him being a legit #2 scorer. However, he just needs to work on consistency. He got off to a hot start from three this season before a wrist injury in mid-December hindered his confidence a bit.

The only reason Roberson is in the NBA is because of his supreme athletic ability. He may be the least skilled perimeter player in the entire league. But, when it comes to his athletic traits there are not many better. He is a great defender and he makes a ton of plays with energy and his jumping ability. He just can't shoot at all, so the other team doesn't have to guard him. Yet, the Thunder still believe his other contributions make him worhthy of heavy minutes. Again, because he is A terrific athlete. Thabo is and always was more skilled than Roberson.

The problem for Oladipo is that he literally could not have picked a worse roster in terms of fit. His greatest strength is his ability to drive and create, but he never has a chance to do that because Russ always has the ball. Dipo is being used as a spot up shooter too often. While he has improved his shot a lot, that simply is not his game.
