It's not as bad as it seems.

Its a smart move...we needed it. I think they have 1 more free agent target...kyle arrington quite possibly, although we may not have enough for him. I don't like glovers number at 7.6 million though, but then again he did have 7 ints. He is invaluable in coverage. Where would you rank him...that's for all.
The Lions way. Nothing is changing. The next regime will be handicapped for years thanks to these kind of moves being made now.
Losers never win, because losers never learn.
It's worse than it seems to anyone not blinded by the rainbow.
"The result leaves the Lions with $2.17 million in new cap space after opening the week with the least cap space of any team in the NFL."
Even without Suh's new contract, the Lions remain a financial dumpster fire.
Sad state of affairs when's team has to kick the can down the road on vets to make space to sign rookies. Hopefully nobody gets hurt this year.

I'd say it's more along the lines of signing the vets that we signed this week not signing rookies.
At least they weren't dumb enough to give noteventhebestdefensiveplayerintheleague that outrageous contract.
