It's not as bad as it seems. They converted like $3.5 mil into a signing bonus instead of base pay(he's still getting paid that this year anyway) and only added $1mil to each of the next 2 years cap hits. With Suh's dead money off the books next year, we'll barely notice it. That is unless you're one to freak out over shit that small. ;)

Its a smart move...we needed it. I think they have 1 more free agent target...kyle arrington quite possibly, although we may not have enough for him. I don't like glovers number at 7.6 million though, but then again he did have 7 ints. He is invaluable in coverage. Where would you rank him...that's for all.

I think he is a top 10 safety, I don't think this has a huge impact on anything. This is just the kind of practice that I thought we would not see anymore. The only advantage of losing Suh was that we would be in a cap situation where it was not needed. To see it happen again already bothers me a bit.

It's not as bad as it seems.

It's worse than it seems to anyone not blinded by the rainbow.

"The result leaves the Lions with $2.17 million in new cap space after opening the week with the least cap space of any team in the NFL."

Even without Suh's new contract, the Lions remain a financial dumpster fire.

The Lions way. Nothing is changing. The next regime will be handicapped for years thanks to these kind of moves being made now.

Losers never win, because losers never learn.

Did they give Darkness his new contract yet?

I'm expecting that move to follow quickly.

Sad state of affairs when's team has to kick the can down the road on vets to make space to sign rookies. Hopefully nobody gets hurt this year.

I'd say it's more along the lines of signing the vets that we signed this week not signing rookies.

We couldn't afford all three big contracts without kicking the can down the road...... Lose one of the three players..... Still kicking the can down the road.

They had to make room to sign Abdullah. Might have to kick some more money down the road to get LT signed. They're gonna try to pay Ihegdibo in gum.

Focus on the positives guys, we have signed 3 stud WR's the last couple days.

Come on now Maybew, one more stud out there I believe. I don't think Donnie Avery has been signed yet.

What am I thinking, who was the former Dallas WR stud we had in camp last year? Get him back in camp. Does anyone have the phone # for Mike Thomas agent? The WR market is ripe with talent still out there.

About 15 WR's in camp seems about right for Millenhew
