Not surprise to hear you defend it, because you've stated that you want teams to go for a first on fourth down almost always.

One of my only frustrations with Shanahan is that he gets so conservative sometimes. Look at this from the Rams-Niners NFC Championship Game. I know that the Rams had stuffed the Niners on two consecutive running plays, but they had gained 9 yards on a first down run, and if Kyle didn't want to run the ball on 4th down, he could've dialed up a pass play. If you're past midfield and it's 4th 2, I think you should go for it almost every single time. After they punted on that possession, the Niners never made it past their own 25 yard line for the rest of the game. Going for it on 4th and 2 would've given them their best chance to win. Instead, Shanahan took the 5 yard penalty and punted and they never came close to being in Rams territory again.

This is the most retarded way of discerning the anatomy of decision making.

Congrats! It’s all played out and after the fact you’ve assessed that losing a game is less optimum than winning a game. You’re the tits my guy. I’ll let Booger McFarland know that you’re coming for him.

Before either decision is made here’s what Campbell is looking at:
This season his team was 15-20 on 4th and 3 or less going for it.
His kicker in his career is 9-20 from 48 yards and beyond.
This is their second kicker of the year and their place kicker has been an issue all season.

You’re making a hindsight decision knowing the outcome and being critical of a man who has spent countless hours watching his team and assessing his team.

LMAO!!!! OK.

Data is awesome until it totally and unequivocally supports the argument you don't like. Like I said, I called him a moron in each instance BEFORE the ball was snapped. On Sunday morning I successfully predicted the Lions would lose because of a bad decision by the coach. Little did I know he'd lose because of THREE bad decisions.

Here's some info for you. The Lions went for it and lost.

Exactly. I think that a coach's decisions should be judged by his process and not by the results. Results will always vary. Pro sports comes down to execution and luck on the play.

And Reynolds dropped passes and Gibbs had an awful fumble.

If not for those, the Lions most likely win.

Honestly, he should've gone for it more. Go for the TD instead of kicking the FG at the end of the first half. That's the real reason that the Lions lost. Dan Campbell wasn't aggressive on that last play call of the first half.

When is that happening? It’s not happening here.
Like I said, I called him a moron in each instance BEFORE the ball was snapped.
Yes. That’s what I’m responding to. I’m responding to a man who maxed out in sports on the JV soccer team being critical of a man who earned one of 32 spots in the world leading a football team. This guy has made his style work to a point where he took a perpetual laughing stock of an organization to the NFC title game.
On Sunday morning I successfully predicted the Lions would lose because of a bad decision by the coach.
You still haven’t established that these are bad decisions. Spoiler alert: if all you have is hindsight based on the outcome you don’t have dick.
Little did I know he'd lose because of THREE bad decisions.

Kick it in, Pele! Go sit over there criss cross apple sauce and mommy will bring you your juice box and orange slices.

Lots of reasons the Lions lost, not just Campbell's coaching decisions.

Reynolds flat out drops the first one.

So a coach should assume his players are going to make every single play every single time?

Funny, I thought there was a bit more thought put into it.

Reynolds flat out drops the first one.

The Niners pass rush put pressure on Goff, so that pass wasn't 100% perfect, causing Reynolds to have to reach for the ball to his right and downward a little bit, but yeah, you expect a pro WR to catch that one.

I disagree. If the kicker makes the two kicks and all else remains the same, we're talking about the Lions being in the SB.

If the kicker makes one of the two kicks, we're possibly talking about the Lions in the SB.

Going for it eliminated those possibilities.

The Lions lost. It's exactly what's happening here.
Purely outcome based.

Nick Foles and Jeff Hostetler won Super Bowls filling in for injured starters.

Andy Reid should sit Patrick Mahomes on February 11th because back up QBs win Super Bowls.

And the kicker making it was a lower percentage than going for it.

Based on 75% conversion on 4th down in the reg season.

I thought Goff made a great play there. He extends the play by stepping up and getting left and then he puts the ball outside because the defender had inside leverage. He has to make that play.

The Lions lost. Both games me and millions of others called him a moron they lost.

Pretty solid data I'd say. There is no data more convincing than the data that they lost both games.
I get the whole conservative game management mantra regarding field position and risk management but its not law, and keeps you predictably in line with the opposing teams plans. That said Campbells gambling can or maybe has, turned into an issue, at some point i expect it to.

My opinion is that hes gone to the well to much, and thats from someone who would only punt from my own side of the field. When the yards markers are counting down, its 4 down territory to me.

Campbells decisions about 4th downs have allowed him to run on 3rd and long vs teams playing whats assumed to be a passing down. For campbell keep this up hes gonna need a more dynamic audible gameplan and more trick plays.

More retarded bull shit. This is the Butterfly Effect taking place in sports. A FG at 8 minutes of the 3Q completely changes game script.

^^^No, it absolutely didn’t.
