What do you guys think of this Blake Bortles kid? The UCF quarterback?

Bridgewaters arm is fantastic. He can make absolutely any throw.

I've watched Bridgewater since he was a freshman and I've never seen him throw an Aaron Rodgers ball. That's just an opinion though.

I also think you get more realistic assessments of players as it gets closer to draft day

we're not getting bridgewater, so I find it hard to get excited about him, other than to watch him play for Houston or Jacksonville.

Braxton Miller looks about hundred times better than Dalton. 4th round pick?

Braxton MIller would be 100 times worse than Dalton. This coming from a Buckeyes fan. Braxton Miller would last two years before being out of the league with injuries from running too much.

That, and he's really a one read and run guy. Doesn't see the field well at all. We already have a quarterback that does that.

I'm surprised none of you draft niks responded to this. Sounds like his stock continues to climb. Maybe the 2nd QB off the board?

I saw him early in the year against South Carolina and I was surprised at how well he played against an SEC school. It was before his NFL hype started so I was thinking of how his game transitions to the pros, but he was definitely impressive.

There's buzz that he's the sleeper QB. I've been hearing that too.

2nd QB off the board IMO is a lock to be Carr from Fresno. Probably a top 5 pick. After that is the group I'd put Bortles in. Him, Manziel, Hundley, Mettenberger, Fales.

I haven't studied these guys like some of you have but my impression of Mettenberger is he has a lot of potential. I would take him in a heartbeat over Manziel or Bortles.

Mettenberger has looked really good this year. I like him alot and had him as a 1st rounder. With the knee injury someone could get a steal in the 2nd, 3rd or 4th round. Let him sit for a year and recover. Perfect kind of guy for Cincinnati to take.

Exactly what I was thinking.

My issue with Mettenberger is that the NFL is trending away from the stationary, vertical passing QB. I guess someone could bring up Flacco winning the SB last year, but he's deceptively mobile for a guy his size

He does have great arm strength and he played well with an NFL OC. There are things to like

I think he'd a be a good longterm fit in AZ while they build up their line over the next couple seasons

Arizona is another good fit for him. While I agree the NFL seems to be going away from completely stationary pocket passers, 2 of the best QBs in the NFL still fit that mold in Manning and Brady. You still win the games from the pocket. Even Newton has had to learn to throw the ball from the pocket to be successful. It's the reason Wilson is better than RGIII right now.

Every thing that leaves Dalton's hands looks like utter shit. I guess any QB would look good next to that.

Brady had a huge arm in his prime, but I wouldn't call Manning or Brady vertical passers in the traditional sense. They both make quick reads and get the ball out of their hands quickly and take shots when they're there. If you can read a defense at that level, and you have great pocket presence, you can get away with subpar mobility.

But I don't think you'll ever see another Kerry Collins or Drew Bledsoe make it to the SB in this era.

I might be underrating his mobility or his ability to pick a team apart with underneath passing though
