I look at the options and I'm stunned and stumped as to why a player would even be listed as a potential all time player with a franchise when he played 95 games for them.

I know Frank Howard helped usher in professional baseball to Texas and all. But 95 games, 9 HR, with 31 RBI shouldn't get you mentioned, IMO period.

Jim Sunberg, was a terrific player for 10 years, won 4 GG, and still is with the organization. He should have been there instead of Howard.
I would put several guys ahead of Howard. Guys like Hargrove, Bell, Harrah, Burroughs, Fergie, Perry, and many, many others.

I wrote in Sundberg and went with him, Pudge, Juan, and Raffy. I would have probably went with Nolan 5th. Very hard decisions.

It's an opinion poll, so to each their own. But my must have's would be Pudge, Juan, MY and then I could go with Sunberg/Burroughs/Nolan or Raffy and not be offended by any of them to complete the top 4.

And I'd have Beltre long before Howard.

Beltre has endeared himself to the fanbase as quick as anyone man can. In four years the impact he's made rivals the stretches of any of the others on that list. Shame he only got to Texas that late in his career. I cannot imagine his numbers if he had been there after he left LA.

I've never seen my Dad get so attached to a player. It was unreal.

You almost need a poll for each decade as most of the time those who never experienced being a Ranger fan during a certain decade would never consider someone from that decade. There are a lot of folks who will never know what it was to be a Ranger fan in the 70s and be able to have guys like Toby, Sunny, Burroughs, Fergie and Grover to come in and bring this team from 100 loss seasons to much greater results. Some will never be able to understand what guys like Al Oliver, Richie Zisk, Buddy Bell, Julio Franco, and Raffy were able to do for this franchise in the late 70s and 80s. Some will never understand what a spark a guy like Oddibe or Rusty brought to the team. Someday guys will be on a board like this and not even understand what hope guys like Beltre, Napoli, Cruz, Kinsler, Young and Hamilton gave to us.

He's said he wants to keep guys fresh in the early going, so probably the reason for Choo out for Smolinski and Rosales being in there at 3B.

You are right there. I love having that guy play for us. The ultimate warrior. Just cannot get him out of the lineup.

Plus Smolinski needs to play once in a while.

Just realized Kazmir is pitching so may be why putting another RH bat in the lineup. Not sure how you edit once you post something.

Im glad his line up changes some. I hated when Wash would always trot the same guys out in the same spot.

With Choo not exactly tearing it up even against RHPs, its probably best to not trot him out against a LHP yet
