Are you talking about GL? They've always had 4-5 beers on tap that aren't in stores. They have 6 currently -

30TH ANNIVERSARY IMPERIAL OYSTER STOUT
BARREL AGED HOLY MOSES WHITE ALE
DU RAUCH SMOKED LAGER
PINEAPPLE MILK STOUT
SOUR BROWN ALE
TRIPEL DOG DARE
Really?

Damn... This was not the case when we were there. It was disappointing, but good to know. Most have been at a bad time or something.

This is the place with the stone, dungeon looking basement, right?

It is. I went there quite a bit when I used to live up in that area, and they always had some pub exclusives. Plus their food as always been amazing.

I grew up closer to Cincinnati than Cleveland, and I go to Cincinnati frequently for work, and I can say without a moment's hesitation that Cleveland is better. Much better sports scene, much better restaurant scene, much better music scene, better breweries, and in general more to do. Having the lakefront in the summer is nice, the museums are better, the R&R HOF is there, and about 45 minutes down the road is the NFL HOF. NE Ohio in general is just better.

And to be perfectly honest, as someone who has lived in Columbus for 10 years since graduating HS and NE Ohio for 5 years (graduated HS in 2003, so going on 11th year in Columbus now), I'd rather be up there. I love Columbus, don't get me wrong, but since it's such a transient city, it just doesn't have the culture or different suburbs like you get in NE Ohio. You are right, Columbus is an extremely easy city to live in. Back several years ago, there was a comedian that came to Columbus, and he summed it up perfectly: if you put a giant dome over Columbus, you could just attach a sticky note to it labeled "city". Tons and tons of things to love about it, but it just lacks an identity.
Everyone has thier own opinion. On that, I agree. Not a matter of being right or wrong. That being said, I am only talking about Downtown. I do not care about the suburbs, 30 miles away in other cities / towns, etc. I live in Downtown Cincinnati, and I can walk from the Banks to OTR and find plenty of restaurants, sports, breweries, bars, museums, concerts, etc., and it is a nicer walk and better weather to boot. There is not one single thing Cleveland has that Cincinnati does not have. Not being a blind homer either (not a native), as I would give Cleveland their props - if I liked the place like I do Columbus and Cincinnati. FWIW, I know plenty of younger people who have moved from Cleveland to Cincinnati (including one of my buddies), but I cannot imagine anybody moving from Cincinnati to Cleveland for the heck of it. I know I wouldn't. To each his own. Enjoy Cleveland! :)

I listed out the advantages, and they're all pretty merited. The walkability thing you talk about is just as evident in Cleveland, especially since The Flats was rejuvenated. The weather is comparable, let's be real. It's cold in both cities right now, and it's hot in the summer.

Cincinnati has become a decent city in recent years, but oddly enough one of the biggest things that turned me off about Cincinnati at an early age was the smug arrogance of people from there. I went to OSU, and so many people I met from Cincinnati were quick to shit on places everyone else came from, despite the fact that Cincinnati was a horrible city in the mid-2000s. For example, OTR was a great place to go get shot, and that's about it.

That said, it's still trails Cleveland in sports, food, museums, beer, music, and definitely nature in the surrounding areas (parks/lake).

Agree to disagree. Now, I am going to spend a Saturday Night in Cleveland this summer for a Soccer Game. Give me a non-generic place Downtown that would be a decent place to eat AND to get a proper Guinness draw (can be two different places) before or after the game @ the Browns Stadium. Only looking downtown and walking distance from the Casino to the Browns Stadium.

As much as I love the Cleveland brewery scene, Great Lakes is insanely overrated these days. Losing their brewmaster a few years ago to 12 Dogs hurt, but now they think they need to go trying to make every beer under the sun, and IMO it's hurt some of their staples like Burning River and Dortmunder. They just don't seem to taste as good as they used to.

That said, they have the best physical brew pub in Ohio IMO. W. 25th is an amazing beer/bar crawl in general.
That’s the hipster thing to say

My recommendation for food would be most anywhere on E. 4th. Butcher and the Brewer, Lola, and Greenhouse Tavern are all fantastic. Flannery's Pub at the end of E. 4th would be your place for a proper Guiness draw. If you're looking for a fantastic sit down steak, I'd go with Red, which is on W. 6th a few blocks south of Browns Stadium. Also, Map Room on 9th is fantastic, and is known for their pizza.

There are plenty of bars downtown right by the Browns stadium (I love Dive Bar, which is an underground sports bar that has over 40 beers on tap and the price is great), but if you're looking for a great place to get a beer, I'd head to W. 25th in the Ohio City area just west of downtown. It's where Great Lakes Brewery is, but there are also several other awesome stops all along that street.

I'm probably missing some newer places, as I haven't lived in NE Ohio for almost 4 years now, but these are some of my favorites.
