Kobe hadn't even played a game, and they voted for him - that was stupid, but they all thought he would be be back by then

I'm sure he see's it as an honor.

Well, he's 3 behind KAJ *19 All Star Games*.

Might be the only one of his NBA records that he can realistically break.

But, he'd have to play 3 more Years:gaah:.

I think Kobe wants to go out still playing at a relatively high level. Kobe could continue playing beyond next year but I'm not sure he will.

Yeah...But, I think he wants to try and catch Malone.

He'd need about 165 more games scoring 25ppg to do that.

We will find out soon enough.

Kobe missed 11 games in year 1, 16 games in year 4, and 14 games in year 5.

Quite frankly I am a little concerned for Lebron - He has a more serious injury with those back strains. Back problems never go away once they start and almost always gets worse. Kobe had smaller problems and never had back problems like Nash and a few others. That's not good at all

Lebron back is fine. He has not missed a game this season due to his back. When you want to rest someone, back injuries is usually the cop out.

Kind of interesting though how a year ago Lebron was being called "The best basket ball player in the NBA ever" and suddenly the excuses are flying left and right. Seems like to me if Lebron is going to be considered even better than Michael Jordan(who never missed again except for those he played baseball), then shouldn't be missing games already. After all if he is even better than Kobe, he shouldn't be missing games

What? MJ missed games....

Michael Jordan NBA Stats | Basketball-Reference.com

He only played in 18 games his 2nd season.

His first season in Washington he only played 60 games.

He averaged 71 games a season. Kobe has averaged 69, but a lot of that is due to playing just 6 games last season.

I agree. I think he retires after next season and heads overseas to close out his career. He's always said he wants to play over there and they'll pay him big cash to do so.

Fine meaning it's strained?

You do know they can make it up just to make it look like he's not missing 3 weeks for a strain kee right? When did you see Lebron hurt his back this year? He has injured the knee 3 or 4 times at least this year

When Kobe was 30 and 31, he was playing 82 games.

Your point?

This will be the first time in Lebron's career he missed more than 7 games

Windhorst said he's likely to return before that time but 2 weeks is the max

guess we'll see then, but as a few folks on this thread have already pointed out the cat's put a helluva lotta mileage on his body, and the possibility of him truly being injured imo has gone up with age. truth to tell even though i flat-out despise the s.o.b. he's done a helluva job at avoiding major injuries to this point, but he's still only human...
