Yes. And maybe it’s me but I cant put Kareem ahead of Bird or Magic. Looking at someone’s prime 1, how good they made their team around them 2, stats per game 3, player that played on both sides of the ball 4, body of work 5. And 6 the era. 70s 80s 90s the game ran through the center. Pound it inside. So Bird with 6.3 assists per game is ridiculous as a SF/PF. But his rebounds per game at 10 can be misleading. Lebron could have averaged 10 boards a game but he plays a lot of PG in a stretch offensive league.

Obviously the stats per game doesn’t work for a player who played less than 10 years imo.

But I would never put Kareem or Karl Malone close to Jordan because of total points score. And I didn’t see Oscar or Wilt play so I can’t speak for the 60s/70s. Can’t put Duncan in the top 3 or Shaq. No Kobe

I actually think LeBron’s emergence has hurt Magic in this debates.

Before LeBron, lots of people had MJ, Magic, Kareem in that order.

But LeBron is like Magic 2.0. He is bigger, faster, stronger better scoring version.

Awful tough to make a solid case for Magic over LeBron.

But Kareem?

No big man has a stronger resume than Kareem. And because they play such different games, there is a more legit argument for Kareem as GOAT than Magic.

Most are going to now say MJ/LeBron then Kareem at 3.

Magic slides to 4 on most lists when before he was often 2.
