I don't necessarily disagree with you. Just throwing names around.

I think if we can keep CJ away from LAA without paying too much then cool, if not then oh well. We still have Holland, Harrison, Ogando, Feliz, Lewis, and Feldman. Any or all of those first 4 could have breakout seasons. I don't think any big moves need to be made, although I'd be all for trying to sign Cespedes. I think he's the better value to us than anybody else right now.

If we can get Cespedes and they can't keep Willingham I wouldn't be opposed to trading either Lewis or Feldman + Murphy or Chavez and a forgivable prospect. I think that could be a good trade for both teams.

Someone has reportedly put 6yrs on the table for CJ. My bet is either Miami, or Washington.

That should seal the deal if it's true. Definitely not the Angels to be sure, which is fine with me then.

Maybe. Depends on how much the offered it with. If its 6yrs at 100m your probably right. But if it's 6 at 80-85m maybe not. Like you said, as long as its not the angels I'm good.

According to sources Nat's offered the 6th year. Not surprising. They gave out a horrible deal last year, so why not double down?

CJ wants to win. The nats are not doing that now, and they're not making good decisions going forward. CJ would be dumb to get himself locked up in 6 years with that team.

It more than likely won't matter if it's 6 and $100 or more. CJ also would like batting every 5th day. It probably comes down to a 5 year offer from the Rangers or the Nationals deal.

I think you underestimate the Nationals

A Strasburg, Wilson, Zimmerman, and Lannan rotation would pretty stout front 4, and you have Peacock, Wang, Detwiler or Gorzelanny to fill out the 5 spot

Not to mention Clippard and Storen at the backend

C: they have Jesus Flores, Wilson Ramos, and Derek Norris coming up soon

1B: they have the 4 ranked 1B prospect last year, Chris Marrero and even can hope for another good season out of Mike Morse

2B: Danny Espinosa was pretty impressive in his rookie year

SS: Ian Desmond has disappointed but he has talent

3B: Ryan Zimmerman is one of the best

OF: Werth and Morse if they play someone else at 1B, and Bryce Harper will be up soon

They even won 80 games last year in the NL East

Yet they still play in the NL East. Not saying they are a bad team, but the AL West is much more winable. The Rangers have been to two straight WS while the Nats haven't sniffed the playoffs. This is all about money if he goes.

I think the only point that jta was trying to make is that the Nats are competitive and are no longer the

In addition to Harper... they have a familiar kid to everyone around here... Matthew Purke.. in their system.

8:59pm: Nationals GM Mike Rizzo told Jim Bowden of ESPN and MLB Network Radio (Twitter link) that he didn't make a six-year offer to Wilson. Adam Kilgore of the Washington Post talked to three Nats sources who said the same thing
