Dixon, and Ginn are getting cut this year. Sad, cuz I like them both.

Jenkins will take Ginn's spot as a receiver (upgrade).
James will be our primary return specialist. We got a legitimate / potent 3rd down back, and still maintain our strength on special team with the return game. The guy is Sproles all over again.

Ginn isnt going anywhere, he signed a low 1 year deal, James isnt that great at KR and PR, I watched a lot of him and he's not on Ted Ginn level. He will be the 3rd down back, Dixon is gone

Brandon Boykin is still on the board. He would have filled a need at CB and return specialist.

James is the homerun threat we dont have like Sproles. Look at the Saints, Ingram, P.Thomas and Sproles. We will look like this, Gore, Jacobs/Hunter, James

it's obvious that harbaugh wants playmakers to run a zillion different formations. i wouldnt be surprised to see james and hunter in the backfield together at times.

I don't get the redundancy issue imac brought up. Hunter isn't exactly Brandon Jacobs, but he's not as quick as James.

He's been one of the most explosive backs in college football the past 2 years, had over 7ypc last year and can get out and run

Jacobs to FB? lol

but yeah, LMJ is a homerun guy, but small guy when touched so idk.... his speed is awesome and running ability is great to see....

but hmmm... would've like Bentley there at CB.

He doesn't have the same "stop and go" but Hunter is very quick. James is faster too.

YO I really like this pick. I feel so relieved for some reason. Still I'm not happy about our 30th pick - based on what was available. But oh man do I love this James pick.

Actually Jacobs could be the one that ends up getting cut. Even if he makes the team, he's going to have a very hard time getting touches. Once that happens, he'll be very disgruntled...

Thats what I thought/ling of thinking too, but Jacobs' advantage over the others is that he's a big bruiser, a pussy, but a bruising big body type back...

maybe now he'll run more often like a 250 pound running back instead of like a cheerleader

I love the idea, and there's very little doubt he's extremely explosive - something I've been wanting at RB for a while. I would've much rather had Lamar Miller or Ronnie Hillman at that point, though. Gore, Hunter, James, and Jacobs is a pretty damn good backfield now.

Bye Dixon!
