Just a case of real evaluation of talent vs hoping some young so far underachievers suddenly all become overachievers.

NBA success doesn't work that way.

And to the credit of the Lakers past history, no matter how bad you are playing or how your record might be,
teams still will get fired up and want to beat you.

Until they jell and have some steady continuity, identify role players, subs patterns, etc. they'll be having more games like Spurs & Hawks. Trying to maintain leads is hard enough, add the fact you have a number of young players mixed in the equation, practically new squad with older players, they'll be having bumps along the way. I don't accept any team laying down and not bringing it which I haven't seen it with this group vs. last years'....
