The Lakers are better off writing this season off as a developmental year for Randle & other young players. They should just sign a bunch of 1 year deals & prepare for the 2015 FA class. 2015 is when there will be many high quality FA available. Way more so than there are in 2014.

Wow, I had no idea and I thought you were kidding. I would not have signed Lamar Odom, but Phil knows much more than I do.

Does Phil know that Lamar was on crack not too long ago? I mean, literally, less than a year Lamar Odom was hitting the crack pipe. And having delusional thoughts. Crack. Wow.

Well, it's the only play now. So by default, that's what is probably going to happen. They would be crazy to offer any long term deals at this point.

Yea he does lasportzphan. Phil was also talking with Metta World Peace for awhile as well. Phil also was in play in talking with Gasol trying to get him to come New York with Anthony. So, Phil knows all about Odom's travails. I am sure he has some safeguard written into Odom's contract to keep Odom on the straight and narrow.

I'll admit at first, I was against Melo signing. Then, started warming up to it. I f&$king hate the media, as I tend to hang on their every word.

But, as time has gone on, I feel that what Retro has said may be "what's best for business"!

Bazemore and Swaggy haven't signed anywhere. Seeing as the Lakers aren't getting Melo or Lebron, I think these two will be back on rich short term contracts. It's all about landing a big fish next summer folks. Good to see the eternal pessimist back!

One aspect of Lebron going back to Cleveland is that if Cleveland swings a deal to trade for Love he'll probably sign there

Laker fans have to hope that Love does not get traded anywhere unless to a team that turns out to be a rental deal

But I don't think a team will trade for him unless they have a back room deal in place to sign him long term
