The Lakers look old and slow to respond to any sort of break. The lead will soon be 20 and this one will be over without a whimper.

This is actually a pretty strong indication of how this season is going to go. Having gone 8-6 with 12 of their first 15 games at home, the Lakers have not responded in any fashion resembling a championship team and taken advantage of the easy schedule.

In fact, they look more like a team that needs to shed a bunch of aging players and start anew in a rebuilding mode that will include Davis as the center-piece. They should sign Lebron to a one-year deal and move every old player that can't play basketball any more at a young man's pace. LeBron should be encouraged to call it a career as his career is pretty much done.

Ball is making a statement as he nails another three and the lead continues to remain in double figures.

Well I am not going to hang around much for the conclusion of this blood-bath. The Lakers looked whipped and that isn't going to change much in the next quarter and a half.

This was a bona fide ass-whippin by a young team on the rise versus an old team on the decline.

THT is a keeper and one of the players this team could and should build around. AD is another. Monk should be encouraged to continue to get better at shooting and defense. Doumbouya should be played more regularly as he shoots very well and he plays defense. I see Vogel is on to Bazemore as he has been benched and rightly so. Dude is worthless. So is Rondo. Bradley is questionable at best. Time to make some more changes to start the rebuild.

I tend agree with this article as hindsight is always 20-20 and better. The Lakers could have easily signed Alex Caruso to keep their great D intact but just refused to and I bet they wished they would have. Maybe that is why the Bulls with two of the proposed trades in this article were playing them last night so aggressively and perfectly. DeRozan and Ball were sending the Lakers an obvious message. The Hield and Lowry trades should have def been done. The Lakers would then be a young and dynamic team rather than an old and declining team but if the rumors are true that Pelinka took his marching orders from LeBron, then there is really nothing further to discuss.

And as we go into the season, more and more players are coming forward stating pretty much the same story: that being, they were all under the distinct impression that their particular promised deal was done in their minds and then at the last minute, the same deal evaporated. We saw this with Caruso, we heard it from Hield and now DeRozan in this article says the same thing. Who was doing this crazy-ass shit? My guess is that the rumors that LeBron was calling the shots are indeed eventually going to be proven correct. Man what a mess this thing is becoming the results of this shit-show team have become a nightmare especially with a team that doesn't play much defense and on most nights go home early at the half.

So one can ponder what this team would be like if the Lakers re-signed Caruso for a few dollars more and didn't do the Westbrook trade. There would have been KCP, Montrezl, and Kuzma and then additions of DeRozan, maybe Lonzo Ball, who also said he was anticipating returning to the Lakers, and additions of Lowry and Hield who probably would have been the destination for any a number of scenarios of moving Harrell, KCP, and/or Kuzma. Well, one can only do what-if scenarios until you are blue-in-the-face but I do know this team would have been much more dynamic, played defense at a way better level, and won more than the present old-age, lazy-fest we got now.

This article pretty much sums-up the perfect mess storm coming to the Lakers just because they ignored the other players that were available to them and went for this franchise destroyer in Westbrook. James will be done in two years and by the Lakers will be a shell of the team when they won the 17th Championship in the bubble.

This was a great signing to the feeder league, the South Bay Lakers. The Lakers also cut Doumbouya (bad foot) and signed Chaunee Brown to a two-way. The Lakers need healthy bodies at this point. The Johnson signing was very good.

Lot of peeps jumpin' on the bandwagon of trashin' the Westbrook trade and instead of shoulda, coulda, woulda signed DeRozan, Ball, Caruso, Lowry, and Hield or even moved KCP and Montrezl and kept Kuzma. I am leaning toward an agreement with this growing sentiment as DeRozan's stats are way better than Westbrook's at this stage in the season, Caruso is playing great D and Ball and Hield are playing pretty well themselves.

I agree to an extent. Whenever a new superstar joins a team with two already established stars, there are always going to be compatibility issues.

And to be honest, KCP, Kuz and Trez for a triple double machine looked pretty damn good at the time

We still could get Hield for RW in a trade.

That would be beautimous DJ. The other two guys we really should have secured is DeRozan and Caruso but hindsight is always 20/20 or better. Ball would have been a bit of an upgrade in the back court as we are stuck with a host of players that are just streaky at best.
